Neymar has been a prodigy since he was born hailing from the most successful footballing nation on Earth. Growing up in the club of Pele.
Hazard is one guy coming through during a small nation's golden generation.
Neymar also has been able to buy into the act since he has been ordained it. He has the rock star hair. Rock star girlfriend. Rock Star son. Rock star lifestyle. He's the cool guy you would want to hang out with.
Now Hazard is also cool, but in much less a degree. He's a married family man. He also dresses like an Eastern European Pimp every time I see him out partying. He's also not been the main man for his country like Neymar since Kevin De Bench was pulling the strings.
De Bench looks a shell of himself in Germany now so if Hazard turns it up there the way he has at Chelsea, then he will definitely double his brand. He will already be much bigger after this season. He's been amazing without Mata there holding him back.

This thread is about marketability ("brand value"). Neymar has won more so he is more marketable and has gained more exposure. In fact he was named 2012's and 2013's most marketable athlete in the world by Sports Pro Media. I don't think Hazard made the Top 50 on either year.Blue Barrett wrote:Seem to remember Hazard winning Ligue 1 & Coupe de France with Lille. Other than that, you wouldn't have expected him to win the CL with Lille, would you? Europe isn't exactly South America. I'm sure you know this.
Not trying to say their honors cancel out as in the end Neymar has won more, however anyone spins it. Just saying you can't just completely ignore the context of things.
Also, so what if he won it in South America? The Brazilian league is arguably better than the French one, and Santos were not heads and shoulders better than the rest. He was their most important player and helped them win trophies at a very young age. That's why he's rated so highly, because he can back up his talent with performance at the highest level.

Brazilian league better than French league?
Where 100 year old Seedorf appeared to be a god for couple seasons, with best ever goal averages? Where fat Ronaldinho still is a big fish? And Neymar didn't even win Brazilian league.
That Brazilian league?

Common man.. Those teams have absolutely zero defense and organization compared to european teams. And for one ligue 1 has been ahead of serie a for quite some time. the brazillian league is barely comparable to the eredivisie

Well we can agree to disagree. I'm not taking anything away from Ligue 1 but I disagree with the statement that a few years back it was much stronger than the Brasileirão.Giggity5313 wrote:Common man..
