It's so nice to have somebody who can defend, works hard and can also pass and drive the play forward. Once he settles in Mikel will really struggle to get minutes I think, Matic is just a more complete version.

Matic was superb, it was so nice having an actual central midfielder who can pass, break up play and drive the play forward. His defensive side and workrate was superb, he was also excellent in the air and pretty much nullified any threat that Crouch might have posed. All in all he made quite an impression on me and he's very very enjoyable to watch with his movement(i'm a CM so I really enjoy watching the top mids ply their trade). If he continues to get better and learn how the squad plays you can see him being a sort of a Toure mould player, very powerful but also has good technique, his dribbling and agility are superb for a 6"4 monster.

Also one other thing. He wins the ball when teams try and play out of the back and while it doesn't sound like that big of a deal I think if it is utilised it will get us bags of goals, especially against lower teams.
