Honestly, I would have taken him as my third CF, but not as an only replacement for a four month injured Giroud.

His record playing basically that same role for United is pretty poor.

When it comes down to it, how often would he play for us?

Drogba has played twice, off the bench, late on.

I don't know when we'll see him next since Costa is currently trialing for his new position as Alpha and Omega while Remy is in good form too.

I can't imagine we'd see Welbeck all that much so I would have been ok with him.

I saw a report saying they wanted to assure they were in the CL before signing him, in order to save a few Million, it horribly backfired as they still ended up spending more than that on Welbeck Laughing
