Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
I actually thought Spurs were more impressive against Man U earlier in the season, but had a 2-2 draw to show for it. Funny game this football. Spurs win 2-1 today while not being particularly outstanding, but defended alright (enough to keep Man U at bay for the most part) and took 2 of the 4 good chances they had, and probably deserve the win. Some great counter attacking, something I think was completely underutilized from Spurs under AVB.
Man U were shite both times they faced Spurs this season.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
Man Utd have not really been that good this season. Even in the games they won by a big margin and were seemingly back on their way to make a move to the top of the table.
I can't see them getting anywhere close the top of the league for the remainder of this season. They might scrape a top 4 place, but even that will be hard work for them.
Likewise Spurs, they have been far from impressive this season and a top 4 place will have to be fought for.
They played well tonight though. They seemed to have a good strategy and executed it well and they never looked out of sorts against United. They were pegged back deep in their half though for the late stages of the match, but that was understandable. United pushed for the equaliser and Spurs were trying to see it out.
It is very interesting this top 4 battle. If Newcastle, Everton and Southampton can keep the pace it'll be even more exciting.

Soton is certainly slipping and while Newcastle is doing well this year, I highly doubt they'll be in the running by the end of the year, and I see them slowly inching out of the race from about this point on (though I don't know what their schedule looks like). Everton I'm not sure about, they've got lasting quality and a great manager.

Tottenham
By the way, again, it's now a 10 point gap between 8th and 10th.

Despite Lloris doing his best to gift United an equalizing goal, Tottenham did the job. Props to them

Nice work by Tottenham, they really had a strategy wrapped up for this game and knew how to play it. This league seems to be one that will be decided on the last day, the battle at top is crazy at the moment.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
Yeah United have been Spurs bogey team for so long. Now it's been Spurs taking 4 points from United both this season and last with United taking just 1.
And I'd say Spurs were the better team in probably all four of those matches and wouldn't have been unfair to win all of them. Maybe the 1-1 last season, as Spurs didn't create enough clear chances.
Also Lloris came up with some big saves at the end/throughout the game. He still looks shaky but he did well.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
DemPele putting in one of those stud defensive performances. I haven't seen him shut down a big player (Rooney) like that since last year in the North London Derby when he made Wilshere his bitch. So happy he's starting to find his form again since Sherwood took over.
CB you going to see Spurs play the Chicago Fire over the Summer? I am waiting on the dates because I might go to the game depending on where it falls in relation to the MLS All-star game against Bayern in Portland.
I thought this to during the game. Hilarious.
Not surprisingly, the officials belong to Mourinho now

Who does Mata think he is?
If Essien can ride the bench for his FRIEND without raising a fuss who does Mata think he is?
I thought Mourinho had broke this peon, but apparently he needs to be taken down a few MORE pegs.
Acted like a kid when subbed, and his sub goes on to win the match for them. Nobody should question Oscar starting over Mata now.
Kevin De Bruyne has earned a bench role after today. Let Mata work his craft in the stands

Utd dropping points again, ever since I said that they re-stablished themselves back to title race.
