Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Oviedo did look very impressive, maybe they won't miss Baines through his injury as much as i thought.... at least going forward.
His defensive capabilities are yet to be tested of course.

Oviedo came in as a LW iirc. Him playing at LB will be a lot like Baines. In terms of attacking efficiency. His role will be the same and the team will also be set in the same way. He was very good today

Oviedo was so great for FCK before being bought by Everton, hope he does great and benches Baines for good. Even though he is kind of a wing back.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
I meant Jekyll and Hyde in terms of season. One season your fighting relegation, next season your competing for a CL place etc. In terms of recent years.
It's a bit weird. Maybe it's down to the fact you have no European comp distractions? But one thing I will say is you always have that one astute signing that does the business whenever you're doing well in the league. 2 seasons ago it was Ba and Cisse, now it's Remy. Gouffran is on form atm too, so is Cabaye.
Newcastle are definitely the in form team atm. United play Newcastle next week and I honestly wouldn't be surprise if we drop points.

Fulham are worse. Sunderland kept City at bay at home and are continuously improving under Poyet and Palace usually give their all against their opponents. Fulham are just plain awful.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Nah Sunderland and Palace are worse.
Why is Jol still managing?

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Ah well i think that all comes down from the top.... Pardew is a very weird person when he's confident it translate to the team we can be very difficult to beat but when he's nervous its detriment to us like last season and we drop like a stone.RED wrote:I meant Jekyll and Hyde in terms of season. I don't think European football not being there is anything to do with it btw.... but i will say the players are a lot fitter, more motivated than last season and knock on wood we have less injuries so far.
As i said earlier though we will hit a brick wall soon probably..... when that happens we are going to need the more talented players to come in and push us on and maybe if we are lucky we might get some players in the positions we need them.
As for the game against you at the moment i'm seeing it as a free hit, i expect to lose and anything more will be a bonus but i said that before Chelsea and Spurs too.

The similarities are definitely theresportsczy wrote:What a waste of money Soldado has been lol. Looks like Papis Cisse out there ffs.
Much of this season Spurs have had no width, don't move the ball quick enough, get crosses in or get the ball in behind.... so Soldado comes deep and thus no one is in the box
With that said though, Spurs seem to be playing more to his strengths today even if he did have one horrible miss.

Hala
Paulinho has really good today don't know what your watching lol.
Anyway Spurs have gone back to basics and its working out for them so far, Soldado will start to score soon if they keep it as is.

Paulinho is plain average. Spurs fans are comparing him with Jenas ffs
Great work rate but it looks like he doesn't know where he's running and why.

Paulinho's been good. Earned the free-kick which Walker scored. And Paulinho's been good in other games as well, although I am a bit surprised AVB is playing him so high up in that midfield.
As long as United don't win, I'm happy with this match.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Paulinho is bang average. Never seen his type in my life. Slow, misses easy chances, leaves a whole pitch of space to cleverley (who isnt exactly making all that space count), and is just generally annoying to watch
if Eriksen is injured they should put Holtby in. Oh and Chadli seriously what is he doing???

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Paulinho is a B2B and does his job. The issue is that Spurs have no playmakers at all. You have two B2Bs and Sandro lol.
Soldado is very average imo. I thought he was overrated at Valencia to begin with.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Paulinho's legit, dude, but I give you that Chadli is anonymous. AVB should just try Townsend and Lennon on both flanks, they both like to cut in anyway, so it shouldn't be that alien for one of them to play on the left (even though they're RWs both).
