Manchester United will set their sights on Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger – if a third bid for Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas fails this week.

The Premier League champions have become aware of whispers in Germany that Schweinsteiger may not fit into Pep Guardiola’s new Bavarian blueprint.

I wouldn't go for the simple fact that United are treating Schweinsteiger as if he's some consolation price to not landing Fabregas when Cesc isn't eve on Bastian's level.

I do agree though, I think piggy is a marked man by Pep. I'm sure he was hoping that Bayern moved him a season prior to the last season when he was having injury problems and looking well past it when he was on the pitch.

Of the two though, Bastian would be the better fit for United.

How is Piggy a marked man by Pep? He moved Javi Martinez to CB and has made Piggy the most influential midfield player in his scheme.

There is about as much chance of Piggy being moved as pigs flying.

Fiorentina released a strongly-worded statement calling Milan’s offer for Adem Ljajic “unacceptable, late and inopportune.”

It is widely reported that the Rossoneri already agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old, even though he is still under contract until June 2014.

“With regards to what was said yesterday by Paolo Panerai on the Ljajic issue, Fiorentina confirm our counsellor’s comments were personal expressions,” read the statement.

“Having said that, we consider Milan’s offer to be unacceptable, certainly late and absolutely inopportune.”

Panerai had taken to Twitter on Saturday to attack Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani for an approach that was “violating the rules.”

The Viola also complained that there had been no formal offer, as the €8m bid was delivered via a phone call instead.

Milan finally sent the fax this weekend, but the €8m proposal is considered too low.

Negotiations were continuing, but this statement suggests Fiorentina have hardened their stance on letting Ljajic go.

This is the problem with the public pursuit of Fabregas, no matter who comes instead they will know they're second choice. Moyes has bid for players in two positions, LB and CM, this will cause unrest in the current squad (if no one comes) or create a desire for the players to prove him wrong. Hopefully, the latter.

Well your wrong.... there's a reason Aston Villa don't want him.

In any case Bent will only happen if one of Gomis and Remy doesn't and they both seem very close.

Its just a back up in case one of them falls apart and in any case if he did come he wouldn't start.

Watching the interview in full made me realise that, also after we have got two strikers we want we will change our attentions to another position.

Although Kinnear didn't say what it is, hopefully its a winger.

Gervinho will complete his medical and will sign for Roma by Monday morning, according to France Football.

The deal will be worth around £7m and he'll get €2.7m a year.
