Well he wanted Martinez for us and im sure most of the reason to play CB, I dont think its only him simply fitting him in, he actually thinks he should play there.

I think he is still looking for the best positions for everyone.

If Bayern had better player than Rafinha, I wouldnt have been surprised if Lahm played midfield full time.

Not that I rule out him using Muller there, he tried him in midfield and I dont know what Pep saw but I wasnt very impressed.

He is probably having trouble figuring Mulller's best position.

Im going to guess he settles on him on the right with Robben in the middle, Ribery left. Robben can swap positions with Muller (like he did with Shaqiri vs us) as the game progresses. Maybe even Ribery who can play anywhere.

That was a close call. BM really need to work on their finishing.

I really dont think he benches Robben, I heard him speak glowingly of him back when he was our coach and from what I see in preseason....Robben might have a great great season if he plays enough.

I think Kroos/Thiago is the most likely...though I think if Muller wasnt a Bayern guy, maybe him.

I wonder how Pep will handle these things. This isnt Barca, there he could do what he wants, he is one of the people.

At Bayern he is not.

If I want to make a guess, I think Pep has an ideal team in his head, but a different one he will end up using on the pitch, especially in the bigger games.

I bet in Peps mind he wants Lahm in midfield with Bastian, Thiago deep in the number 4 role. Robben/Gotze in the middle, Ribery left and Gotze/Robben right.

Bastian says he wants to play the number 4 position so thats a problem, Muller being benched will upset people, same maybe for Kroos and people will get funny about Lahm in midfield and the potentional ostracization of Mandzukic.

Why I dont think he is a good CB.

He is physically strong...against other midfielders....he can really push Iniesta about....but actual strikers are different.

He also isnt quick.
