Maybe it's just me but I feel he's way more inclined to make costly mistakes rathen than a decisive save, I hope our fate in the CL won't be in his hands. He did nothing spectacular against Atleti but gave safety to our defence and that's the most important thing in a match like that, I'll give him that.

He is solid, I've seen Mark play many times (most for Australia) and he can come up with some brilliant moments too.

Chelsea Football Club is pleased to announce Mark Schwarzer has today (Tuesday) signed a new one-year contract.

The former Australian international goalkeeper, who holds his country's appearance record, joined Chelsea last summer on a free transfer and proved a reliable backup to Petr Cech during the 2013/14 campaign.

He made his debut in a Capital One Cup victory at Swindon, and kept his place in that competition for games away to Arsenal and Sunderland. He also started in a Champions League home win against Steaua Bucharest.

That was his maiden appearance in Europe's top competition, and he was called back into action following injury to Cech in our semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid, performing admirably to keep a clean sheet, before ending the season between the posts as he covered for the recovering Cech. In total he made 12 starts and one substitute appearance during his first season with the club.

How were the club to know there wouldn't be a bid for Cech from PSG/Real/etc. in the last 2 or 3 days of the window and he'd be gone?

Makes perfect sense to me.
