Is it just me, or are his legs as long as Messi's ? His body looks very tall for his legs ...

His defensive contribution is very underrated. Very happy with him and he should be a starter imo.

Isco - Page 4 Empty Re: Isco

Post by Onyx Fri Aug 16, 2013 2:51 pm

There has been also been some debate over whether Madrid actually need Bale, but Isco feels that the Welshman would represent a most welcome selection headache for Ancelotti.

"If he comes, it would a problem for the coach, but a blessed problem," he told reporters at a press conference on Friday.

"I think what everybody thinks [about him]: that he is a really great player. So, we would welcome him as everyone else has been welcomed [this summer]."

Isco is one of Madrid's most recent arrivals, having joined from Malaga for a reported €30m and he believes he can thrive at the Bernabeu under Ancelotti's tutelage.

"He's a coach who is always speaking with you," he explains. "He is very close to the players and his philosophy is perfect for Madrid.

"The coach asks for possession, good judgment, creativity and high pressing. It's a style that suits players who like to play. We're going to see an attractive Madrid that will do great things.

"We want to do well in all competitions, not just the Champions League. We want to win everything."

Isco admitted, though, that he faces a difficult task in nailing down a regular berth in the Madrid starting line-up.

"I will just try to do my job," he explained. "The adaptation for me has been quick and easy. I'm delighted to be here and eager to do well.

"It's true that at Malaga I played every game as a starter, but here at Madrid, they give nothing away.

"I hope to play a lot and I hope to play on Sunday [in Madrid's Liga opener against Betis] but the coach has the final say."

I think carlo is still trying to figure out who is best out of the two in our midfield three

the one who starts vs barca is probably the one who has impressed him the most out of the two

We cannot seem to differentiate between good and bad teams this season so its better to be careful

and in the copa id rather play casemiro and alonso to give the others rest, gets alonso up to speed and asses casemiro

I have to admit, I haven't really been impressed with Illaramendi's performances, thus far. He's clearly got good vision, but his ability to judge and act on certain situations is far below what I had expected of him. Also, he loses possession far too easily, sometimes. I do realise that he's a great prospect and did really well for Spain's U21 etc, but I have yet to conclude that he's good enough for Real Madrid. How much did we pay for him, again?

Isco - Page 4 Empty Re: Isco

Post by Le Samourai Sun Oct 27, 2013 6:44 am

I think Isco over Di Maria would have changed the game in the first half. I was actually looking forward to seeing him play this game since Barca as a team devote so much to getting the ball back early that I actually think he's one going to be one of our better performers against them in the future.

It's much easier to play against them when you're able to ride those initial challenges. I'm not sure they actually know how to defend after that.

In this game specifically, you saw a disconnect between attack and midfield. Khedira being where he is on the pitch is problematic within itself, but under normal circumstances he'd have another viable forward passing option. I thought Carlo would have positioned Di Maria on the left just to make sure Modric involved him and to make sure he had space to run into - but he didn't. Isco would have been perfect for that role just alongside Modric, he would have gotten through the midfield and open up things for Bale and Ronaldo.

I wouldn't go that far.

Isco is a great player, but if he doesn't play enough this year. He will perhaps leave to City and We may get Aguero in return. Not a bad deal. Again assuming Ancelloti is not sacked by then Razz

Long term I can see Isco taking Khedira's spot and Alonso being replaced by a pure DM.

Illara will replace Alonso, but I can't see Isco playing as a box-box MF role as Khedira. Isco is an AM. If he doesn't get to play at Madrid. He will play in England. Too good a player to get wasted.
