How far are you?
It's going to keep getting better.
Any other similar shows?

The Simpsons >>>>
Grew up watching it every night pretty much. Haven;t watched it in years, heard it declined. Best cartoon ever.
If I was going to make a top shows list it would have to be top 5.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
Yh from what I already watch and BB + Justified i'm noticing like 60% of the main characters on them are people I already know.
Also the man who becomes chief of police later on justified is a gun salesman on BB and 'Bobby' on Supernatural.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
Before I started watching it, people told me the first 5 were slow and different from the rest. Normally I chalk that off to lies to get people to keep watching it. But it's true.
Those first episodes are used to introduce people and build characters. Some of which are in it a LOT. So without the slow, grinding episodes you don't really care about the characters you're supposed to.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
There's actually kind of a new story every episode, so it makes it interesting. Compared to one story which takes ages to get started.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
The first couple episodes of Breaking Bad didn't entice me a whole lot either, but I liked them enough to keep going.
First couple episodes of Justified were very slow and I might have stopped if I didn't have it on good authority the 1st season was slower. By the middle of season 1 though I'd have kept watching regardless of people's opinions on the show. It does take a bit to get going, but it's a great show and I look forward to watching more when I have time.
I feel like, although pilots are meant to keep you engaged and wanting to watch next week, you really have to watch several episodes of a new series before you can get a feel of if it's your style or not.

A solid first episode, I really like the switch at the end as I felt it was an unexpected and well played turn

Yup. Many times. One of my favourites of all time. I am huge fan of these types of movies. Really surprised that I didn't know of these two series though.Firenze wrote:You've seen Saving Private Ryan, right?
