Re: Aussie/A League Transfers/Rumours
Are we actually using this section for something its intended for? This can't be right.
Deadset Nicholas to victory looks good.
Hopefully CCM keep losing players, not to see them get weaker for league reasons, but just to see that club fail, if not the most racist, despicable bogan fans in this country.
Outset of young players leaving us for a foreign club improves and is really great.
Really hoping the league gets 1 more big signing, should be good for the a-league after the great season we had last year.
Still keen on who popa brings back to us with the amount of player we released after the season.

Re: Aussie/A League Transfers/Rumours
Tbh R34, we have bought Juric who will be our replacement for Kresinger. We also have Barresi from the academy who is playing in the youth team who will be called up if we have any problems in midfield. We probably need a back up CB. Don't think Popa is going to spend big on one given that La Rocca can also feature there so maybe someone from the youth team? Jack Green had a great season for the Wanderers Youth last year and IMO should get a full time license with Wanderers First Team.
Melbourne Victory are set to release/sell their marquee man Marcos Flores to CCM in order to gain Greek central mid and skipper Giorgios Karagounis who is in talks with the Victory.
This could be an interesting move for the Victory. In Ange's system they need someone who can control the game and what I was seeing last season they didn't have anyone who could do this. With Nichols higher up on the field and Broxham/Milligan/Celesvki at DM the midfield of Victory is set to look perfect for next season. They probably need a forward to replace Rojas though saying that Ange likes using and developing his younger players so he'll probably use someone he already has...

Brisbane Roar Women have signed up German NT captain Nadine Angerer on a free transfer. The 2-time World Champion and 4-time European Champion felt that a change of scenery was in order at this stage in her career as she wanted to experience something new.

Re: Aussie/A League Transfers/Rumours
Nadine Angerer is Germany's Nr.1 since 2007 and she is absolutely stunning and able to save even quite some 'unsavable' shots. In the 2007 World Cup, she set the record of no goal conceded during the whole tournament (which included saving a penalty shot by Marta in the final against Brazil), and in this year's Euro she saved the NT's butts in the first match several times. Only yesterday she was powerless once when a nastily deflected shot went past her.Forza wrote:I'm no expert in the world of women's football, so how big a deal is this?
Angerer played for the crème de la crème clubs of women football (7 years Turbine Potsdam, 4 years 1. FFC Frankfurt), and she let her Frankfurt contract run down as she wanted to experience some foreign football culture afterwards. In her interview she said she wants to help Brisbane win the Australian title, before she will move on to the US in 2014. She said for the 5 month contract with Brisbane she decided against the money, but for the adventure.
BTW fun fact: One of her 121 international matches she played as outfield player when she was subbed in as defender in 2001 in a match against China XD

@Forza
One more thing about Nadine Angerer - today she had another amazing performance in the final of the Euro 2013:
"So an exceptional tournament comes to an end with a final worthy of it, and a goalkeeping performance for the ages."
"There can't have been many better goalkeeping displays than that of Nadine Angerer. Two penalty saves, absurd - but even aside from that (not remotely aside from that), she was confident, composed, and most significantly of all, decisive."

Waste of money, marquee defenders aren't going to win you the league.

Well, attacking Marquee's don't always work either. E.g Kewel, ADP.

Re: Aussie/A League Transfers/Rumours
Did you just highlight ADP as a failed Marquee player, his the sole reason sydney FC even muster points from any games. Is it really his fault they didn't make the finals when he had one of the shitest teams and coaches guiding the club.

Re: Aussie/A League Transfers/Rumours
No, I am saying a marquee alone does not secure you glory.
While I do agree that an attacking Marquee is probably better overall, Glory do still have Shane Smeltz who is one of the best A-league CF's.
And Gallas is a great player so it is a great signing for them tbh.

Might not work out for Glory, but will boost viewers, money, and the profile of the league.

I think it could work out well if Gallas comes to play and not think it's like retiring. He is a great defender and with some form could be immense for them.

Looks like Bayer Leverkusen are interested in Mark Birighitti, GK of A-League-Klub Newcastle United Jets.

Well, Bayer certainly wouldn't want him as Nr.1 as they have Bernd Leno, so prolly they think he can be his understudy and still learn some.

Victory are making some great signings.

Berisha and now Delpierrie.
Both Melbourne teams should be quite strong next season.
