Overrated footballers who became underrated

Number one is Gerrard for me. A devestating All action footballer early on in his career and once he lost his incredible athleticism I thought his career as a WC midfielder was finished up until this season

He's adapted remarkably well into a more refined midfield controller role something I thought he was previously incapable of and gave himself a good 2/3 more years as a reliable starter. Hope Lampard takes note instead of hunting for goals for another year, especially now that he's broken the record.

Scholes and Gerrard adapted while Lamps still thinks he's 24. Proud

Robinho.

People act just because he didnt turn into Pele that he is now some terrible footballer. Hes good, just not as good as people thought he would be. Still respectable.

decent shout, he was good for real madrid, always a danger and threat. I know he was one of the players I most feared when coming against Madrid or Brazil NT, definitely gets some undeserved stick for not living up to the hype the brazilian/spanish media created Laughing

Good shout. Actually had a solid career.

And was excellent in 07-08 before Madrid killed his career.

Neymar is a good example. The hype he gets in Brazil is beyond belief and as a consequence many Europeans hate him.

Gerrard is a great one tbh.

Last year i thought he had it, i mean he rapes us year in year out and suddenly he looked off the pace and was dominated by Danny f*cking Guthrie Laughing

I thought something must be up, but credit where credit is due he's come back hard this season and been fantastic one of best CMs in the league this year without a doubt if not the best.
