The stakes and expectations are so high, he will inherit a triplet-winning team, with the competition's best players, and champions of europe on top of that - how could he possibly succeed? Even if he wins the league and gets to the CL semis that will be considered a failure Laughing

By who? Anyone sane will understand that repeating/bettering the treble is absurdly unlikely and won't expect as much from Pep. Should he make another deep run into the CL while also winning the league and/or domestic cup it will be considered a very successful start. Even a season with lesser achievements than that will not be considered a failure by those who are not specifically looking for reason to declare him and/or Bayern a failure.

How many managers or teams actually win back to back trebles ?

If Pep wins the Bundesliga than he has been a success.

While I agree, its not a failure to fail to repeat I still think itsa bad move for him. I just think taking on a team fresh of winning it all is a bad choice.

But if he takes Bayern on to be a dynasty or even becomes responsible for the first ever back to back Champs League....how can you not credit that?

Overall it won't be easy for him to look good but clearly Pep doesn't care about that.

And despite the way they dispatched of us, I don't view this Bayern side the level we used to be, so I think he will think there is a higher level to be reached.

Dude ran away to the most one team league of all time. He has a stacked squad and it's coming off a historic season and already crippling it's competitors in the transfer market.

Anything less than a league title would be a huge flop.

Bitter how exactly? Pep saw his team wasn't preforming like they used to and Jose seemed to have built a machine (That sadly went up in smoke). He called it quits and high tailed it to a one team league,

It's not bitter at all. It's the truth.

That's a nice story bro. The problem with it is you have no proof in what you have written so why don't you leave your thought to yourself and take a nap

Do he have any competition to win Bundesliga?

It is exactly like PSG in france. Not winning the league with that vast superior squad is almost impossible lol..

BVB are selling both Lewandowski and goetze to Bayern as well and they finished 20 point off Bayern this season with them. Laughing

Dortmund already have a system in place and will replace the players leaving. They focused more on Europe than they did in the Bundesliga last season.

Bayern will have new players, a new manager, new tactics to adapt to all whilst having Dortmund breathing down their necks. Dortmund can beat the rest of the teams in the league with ease on their day. To say Dortmund don't have a chance is not true at all.

They ll have to concentrate on Europe next year too.

And what ever squad they are assembling it will be inferior to the current squad. you just cant replace players of that quality like Goetze and Lewandowski that easily...

Besides that the BVB next year will be a completely different team due to key players being replaced while i think Bayern core players will remain the same which gives them a huge advantage.

Everybody knows Bayern are going to win next years Bundesliga lol..it is a matter of when...in December? January or february?

Who exactly fits into the "tiki taka" type Pep will most likely want to implement at Bayern? lol

It won't be a walk in the park for them next year.

Goetze and Lewand are key players, but losing players is a lot easier to fix than changing a whole system whilst getting results at the same time. It was easy for Pep at Barca because the players were taught the system from the u/12s...

United lost Ronaldo and everyone thought they were done. Replaced him with Valencia (1/3 of the quality) but still went on to win 2-3 PLs since Ronaldo left.

Same thing goes with Ajax. They continuosly lose their star players but the system gets them over the line. Frank De Boer is taking them to a whole new level though.

Heaps more of examples. Dortmund aren't "done" now they've lost 2 players.

Pep will fail Empty Re: Pep will fail

Post by Art Morte Sun May 26, 2013 8:01 am

Guardiola's biggest challenge will be keeping the players motivated. This will be helped by the fact that Bayern have got many young (and talented) players. If he can keep them working hard and not switching off mentally, then it shouldn't be that difficult to keep the team's performance level where it is now. People have tendency to slack off when they see that they're the best. It's like when you're cycling (or running) behind someone, you try your hardest to keep up with them, but if you're the one in front you don't push yourself to the limit all that often. Motivation and work-rate is the key for Pep and it will be interesting to see how he manages it when bearing in mind how Barcelona seemed to slack off once they had reached the peak with him.
