Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
Come on, Newcastle, sell Cisse and buy Carroll back - if he doesn't get another chance at LFC - I'd much prefer him enjoying the service of Newcastle's midfield than that of West Ham's!

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
Would it be a good idea to create a separate thread to discuss rumours? One thread for rumours and the other to discuss them?

Nah, because it'd become a mess.

It's a mess right now I think because there's rumours, then discussions, rumours discussion etc etc.
If there was a separate thread people can easily read the rumours. Plus the entire summer rumours would probably fit in one thread instead of different threads.

Or the current threads can continue, however a new thread can be made just for rumours to be posted.

ASSE responded to this officially and said that the club will refuse all offers for Zouma for next season. It was one of Galtier's requirements for him to stay as manager of the club (he had other offers). They also said that, of the players rumored, only Aubameyang has the blessing of the club to look for a transfer.
Went on to blast agents in general lol.

sportsczy wrote:Madrid aren't going to pay more than €30 mil because that's what Higuain is worth on the market and Suarez is not better.
In fact, i think Suarez is massively overrated. He got 30 goals and 5 assists.... but on 226 shots (13.3% which is horrible) in 3800 mins and when everything was geared to get him the ball. He'll struggle to get 125 shots at Madrid.
Benz has gotten 19 goals (and 20 assists) on 96 shots in 2800 mins and Higuain 16 goals (and 8 assists) on 67 shots in 2300 mins.
I won't even go into the stats for the year prior to this one... he's just not worth more.
I'm not going to argue with your valuation of his talent, just because I don't know enough. I will say though that, as Tom said earlier in the thread, skill is not the only factor deciding price, and everything else with Suarez works in Liverpool's favor.
He just signed a contract extension a year ago, and has four years left.
He's THE single most important player in the squad.
He's not old.
We don't have a replacement in house ready to take over in his position.
Also taking into account that he was originally bought for around 23m, (which wasn't even overpriced at the time), there's no chance Liverpool is going to value him at 30m after the seasons he's had with the club. To even offer that little for him is just plain stupid by Madrid's management. It's a waste of everybody's time to make the bid, and it's a waste of everybody's time to discuss the rumor. I'd be surprised if LFC didn't laugh at them over the phone when they heard the number.
If the two teams don't see eye to eye on valuation, then so be it, but RM should be smart enough to not waste our time with jokes like that.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
stevieg8 ,well the problem as you know is that.
when a player openly states he wants out his transfer fee lowers massively.Suarez was idiotic to say or intent he wants out ,which makes Liverpool have little stand point when negotiating. We all know keeping an unhappy player aint worth it as well.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
Here is a counter argument:
No club will want to pay a lot of money for a fcking nut case like Suarez
More importantly he himself seems dead set on leaving
20 million plus Callejon is a great offer for pool. You get close to what you bought him for and a player who can be very useful to any squad in Callejon. This all seems very similar to the Alonso saga were every Pool fan was sure he wouldn't go and if he did it would be for something like 35 million or some other stupid number (we signed him for 24).
I don't even want Suarez at Madrid but you're kidding if you don't think Madrid have leverage here. Hopefully Pool reject Madrid's more than fair offer.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
The thing is Stevie... EPL valuation and market valuations are massively different. He wants to leave England, so UK clubs are out of the question.
That said, I don't want him to come to Madrid because i think he's a punk and he brings nothing we need. But for liverpool, He could easily turn into another Tevez given his mentality, which is basically cash his checks and pout until he gets what he wants. Liverpool could sit back and hope he doesn't go crazy on them (big risk given all his antics) or they can get ahead of the curve and try to sell him.
On the European market, he's worth €30 mil because PSG has Ibra, Monaco has Falcao and Bayern are getting Lewandowski. Barca already spent their budget. Juve and Madrid are the only players for him out there. Looks like Juve are moving away from Higuain and close to Jovetic. That leaves Madrid... so will Madrid sell Higuain to someone for €30 mil and pay more for Suarez? Highly unlikely.
Just a bad situation that Suarez created for Liverpool.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
Wow so we are evaluating the difference between Benzema & Higuain with Suarez through statistical inference, despite the obvious gap in performances within the last two years.
Despite Suarez ranging in positions out wide, behind a striker, False 9 & doing things Benzema or Higuain aren't capable of.
Stats aren't the most appropriate manner to judge Suarez since what he does goes beyond that.
That kind of inference goes for players like Huntelaar, Torres, Gomez etc ie. players who do f**k all outside of goals.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.II
That offer is in no possible way 'great' for Liverpool.
btw, Xabi went for 30mp. 4 seasons back. A midfielder. That would be equivalent to 40-45mp in today's market.

Zealous might as well add a Radio Shack coupon instead of Callejon. Suarez is worth 30+ and bouncing in Callejon is next to useless. I admire your economical premise yet it just isn't correct in this situation.

Madridistas come up with the more bizzare logic with transfers, and always some how turn it around that it favors "everyone invovled". When in reality the deal blatantly only favors them

Callejon is a great auxiliary striker to have on your team. A proper inside forward with great finishing. Worth 10 million+ easily.

20 million plus a player in exchange for a player who wants to leave is a great deal. I'm not even semi-joking like I usually do in these cases.
This is of course assuming Suarez does indeed want to go. If not things obviously change.

We are known for being a gentle man club and paying the right money in Transfer market unlike some village clubs who will get their players unsettle the target *cough* Fabregas is suffering *cough*
