Chelsea's Insane Scheduling
30/3: @ Saints
1/4: vs. Man United
4/4: vs. Rubin Kazan
7/4: vs. Sunderland
11/4: @ Kazan
14/4: vs City
17/4: @ Fulham
21/4: @ Liverpool
25/4: EL Semi-first leg (most likely)
28/4: vs Swansea
2/5: EL Semi-second leg
5/5: @ Man United
That's 12 GAMES in 36 days. they've played 4 of them already. That's simply insane.
Just don't see them having the squad to get through this....surely they'll collapse somewhere?
Their c*nt fans (Gil and a few others aside), will be on OMG IT'S FSW'S FAULT, wagon no doubt, but this is absolutely insane. They are likely to have their game vs Spurs scheduled after the United game as well (3 days after), and if they make EL final, then again they'll play every 3 days or FA cup final.
jesus christ, this is getting out of hand

Re: Chelsea's Insane Scheduling
You're telling me.
Why do you think we wanted to lose to Manchester United and Rubin Kazan?
I'd love for us to win a trophy this season but I'd much rather save our energy for finishing top 4.

And dont forget they played in the Club World Cup earlier in the season. And both European and Domestic Supercips. Does this Chelsea side have the record for most games played ina single season in all of Europe's top flight leagues???

That is an epic run of games. Bet Rafa will lose a few pounds with all those miles walked at airports.
Malouda to get his first minutes of the season

Got to the two legged semi of COC as well.
You'd be pretty hard pressed to find anyone who has ever played more in a season. If we made it to the final of COC and make it to the final of EL and FAC we'd have played the max games we possibly could!

We've played youth over Malouda. He won't play.

It escapes me completely, did you guys play any qualifying matches for CL at the beginning of the season since you took Spurs' 4th spot

i dont understand when people say its 'insane' and 'out of control' fixture list
1) They are Professional Athletes
2) Its Their job
3) They earn huge sums of money
4) Heaven forbid that they work 5 straight days in a row like probably the rest of us

Well, no matter how much they are paid, their are limits to what the body can do without harm. Stuff like stress fractures or muscular tears don't come from nothing, after all.

And it's not just that, your body needs time to recover to put in another maximum performance again. Well mine does anyway

This will undoubtly test Chelsea's depth in squad. After all Chelsea are mentioned to have one of the best depth in the other thread in GoalLegacy.

Re: Chelsea's Insane Scheduling
We don't.
Our only decent sub AM/LW/RW is Moses. Ramires is our only back up CM and Cahill/Terry are our back up CB's.
Our midfield is going to get very, very tired. Only plus side is it's a young midfield so they might cope a bit better.
What makes it worse is we are playing 2 end of season friendlies in USA.

You have good depth. The likes of Marin, Benayoun, Bertrand can do a job.
Azpi - Terry - Cahill - Cole
Moses - Lampard - Mikel - Marin
Mata
Torres
Ferreira - Luiz - Ivanovic - Bertrand
Benayoun - Ramires - Mikel - Hazard
Oscar
Ba
That's two decent XI's with only one player featuring in both. Not saying it makes your fixture list a walk in the park, but that's good depth, probably only ManU has better depth in their squad.

Re: Chelsea's Insane Scheduling
Marin is worse than Crap. He is total waste of space. Cole is out injured. Ferreira is also a waste of space (only at the club till he retires) Romeu is out injured (you left him out anyway) Benayoun is average at best and Torres is Torres.
We struggled against Southampton with a few second teamers playing, I don't know if a similar team could get a win.
it does look decent on paper though.

Re: Chelsea's Insane Scheduling
Chelsea looks like they got depth, but the truth is that apart from the first real team our team is below average. I think its time to recall Lukaku at least. Get him to play some PL games. Even KDB and Essien. Cos Cole has already had the toll of the season and soon if we over work Mata, Hazard and Oscar they are gonna get the same. And those three are the driving forces in the attack.
Re: Chelsea's Insane Scheduling
They still have to play Spurs as well I think.
Also I don't think it's too bad from the Rubin Kazan game.

Re: Chelsea's Insane Scheduling
We're already on pace to play the most matches in a season we've ever played.
Sad thing is, we can't afford to lose a lot of them. Especially the league matches.

have you ever had to play multiple competitive matches in a week? you can't compare an athletic job to a regular 9-5 job.
and earning more money doesnt heal your body any better..

You really need a re-boot mate.
Have you tried playing 90 minute professional football games every 3 days for 1.5 MONTHS !
I mean, even world cup is a month, and you get breaks more than 3 days.
