easily top 3. the only person i rate above mata is ineista.

Are we seriously ignoring Fabregas' because of his dip on form in January onwards? He started all the time when Tito was on charge and was fantastic alongside Xavi and Busquets. So he basically wasn't crap for a year as he, Iniesta and Messi were the most influential attacking players this season for Barcelona which basically secured them La Liga in January.

Anyway... my top 3 AM's would be: Özil, Fabregas and Mata without order.

People are inventing numbers for Mata that don't exist. He's on 10 goals and 10 assists in the league. Ignoring for a second the fact that for a midfielder's overall performance it's completely irrelevant whether he has 5 assists or 10 assists over 30 games, Cazorla actually has very similar numbers. 12 goals and 7 assists.

Fabregas doesn't play AM anyway. He plays the same position as Iniesta or as a false 9.

Saying someone on the team you support is the best in the world in their position is never really a convincing statement. For example, I doubt OP watches Gotze (the player he is comparing with most) nearly as often as he does Mata, and then there is Ozil, and the other Spanish AMs that play more than Mata in the national team. Mata is pure class but these types of arguments lose some validity when it's obvious that the person arguing the stance is coming from a clearly bias position.

Mata is one of my favorite players, and the only reason I don't hate on Chelskie as much as I usually do. I would absolutely agree he is the best CAM in the world right now. If he's not "the" best then he's on par with everyone else who is considered to be "the" best.
