Jose Mourinho's Greatest XI
Got a pretty cool idea from a Goal.com article, well at least I think its a cool idea. They did Mourinho's greatest XI you can check it out here. And though I disagree with it, how about you guys do some greatest XI's for some of your favorite managers. Probably be more interesting if they jumped around like Mourinho.
Heres my Mourinho's greatest XI
Agree/Disagree?
So you have to think about the players when they were coached under the specific coach.
How about:
Guus Hiddink
VDB
Van Gaal
Ancelotti
AVB
Benitez
Pellegrini
Schuster
etc. Do any coach you want.

I'd put victor Baia instead of Casillas in this case specifically.

Marcelo has no business to be in the lineup.
Its a toss up between Julio Cesar and Casillas as well.

The Sahin leftback part really got a chuckle out of me lol
On the actual team, I think its silly putting Milito on the right..like he even remotely played there.
Could of easily used Robben or even Duff ffs..someone, anyone who actually played the position.

Re: Jose Mourinho's Greatest XI
How do you leave 3 vital pieces of the defense that conceded the fewest League goals in English football history.
Casillas - Cech under Mou > Iker under Mou
Maicon - Agree
Samuel - Terry >>>>
Lucio - Carvalho >>>>>>>
Marcelo - Agree
Makelele - Agree
Lampard - Agree
Sneijder - Gotta be kidding me lol. Deco/Essien/Alonso/Ozil are far better options
Militio - Pigeon holed really but agree
Drogba - Obviously
Ronaldo - Duh

Re: Jose Mourinho's Greatest XI
Well to be fair, that Inter centerback pairing won the CL, the Chelsea one didnt. Not their faults but thats probably the reason why they get the nod.

Only conceded three goals in the elimination portion of the tourney, including the final

Indeed. I dont find it facepalm worthy like Gil at all. That Inter pair was not to be slept on.
Bottled up many strikers.

Re: Jose Mourinho's Greatest XI
Jupp Heynckes
----------------- Neuer
Vogts -- Augenthaler - Lucio - R. Carlos
Matthäus - Redondo - Schweinsteiger
---------Raúl --------Scholl
------------Rumenigge
Don Jupp's men line up in a nifty 4-3-2-1 with little width, and stand deep. No early pressing, they absorb pressure due to the statue of former sweeper Lothar Matthäus and the industrious Schweinsteiger in midfield, who are covered by the venomous Vogts, the bullwark of Augenthaler, who captains the team, and tricky duo Lucio and Carlos.
Once they gain possession they hit quick, through the center of the pitch, with Redondo, Schweinsteiger, and Matthäus taking turns orchestrating the attacks, once they get close to goal, they feed Rumenigge, with Mehmet Scholl and Raúl lurking at the edge of the area to prey on rebounds.
If the opposition parks the bus, Mathäus (or Redondo, or Schweinsteiger) advances up the pitch, Scholl and Raul push wide, and they will probe the defence with those perfect passes half the team knows how to play, with all defenders taking turns in crowding the box. The CBs are both a threat on goal, while Vogts and Carlos both know to cross.
If all else fails, sub in Ribéry or Müller, or sub in Gomez and cross high until he lucks out and scores a header. Boom. Heynckes XI. Or sub in Seedorf, what do I care. Heynckes has coached everyone, I can pretty much just name awesome footballers, he'll have coached them at some time.

Re: Jose Mourinho's Greatest XI
I thought to myself: Someone should do Hitzfeld, he's got to have a great team, so I googled it
.....whothehellarethesepeople.jpg
Which I suppose makes his feats even more impressive?
