Sony's Andrew House said the new console will create "experiences that surpass gamers' wildest expectations."

Lead system architect on the PlayStation 4, Mark Cerny, said "the development of a next-gen platform started about five years ago" and that it's goal is "freeing developers from technological barriers."

Cerny said the platform is "by game creators for game creators" and that its architecture is "like a PC, but supercharged." PS4 uses the X86 CPU and has 8GB of memory and a local hard drive. It uses APU technology and GDDR5 memory, which is typically reserved for "top of the line, high end graphics cards."

The pillars of PS4 are Simple, Immediate, Social, Integrated and Personalized. PlayStation 4 supports suspending and reloading play sessions. The console has a secondary chip for uploading and downloading in the background. Digital games can be played as they are being downloaded.

BTW there are rumors going around that the PS4 will make you pay like XBL does for online.

Hardly surprising because the difference in service is so huge at the moment and Sony are really losing out on so much money by sticking to the free service.

While i agree on the controller, i much prefer the 360 controller too but that is more of a question of feel.

I know a lot of people who prefer the PS3 controller, the idea of the PSN service costing money is something different.

As it stands XBL as a service is obviously better because it costs money but if PSN was a paid service too the gap would probably be a lot smaller.

Tbh as far as my choice goes i think about various things but the main things will be service, choice of games and controller.

I preferred Xbox for that in this generation but who knows if Sony improves in these things i might go back to them for the next generation.

I do think Sony should do it though, even if the consumer would disagree.

I prefer the PS3 controller for fighting games,racing, fifa, and games like far cry,uncharted, infamous, etc or pretty any game.


I was always so used to the Xbox controllers I loved the triggers and I always said I prefer the Xbox controller over the ps3's. I was even looking for a modded Xbox controller that would work with a ps3 lol


It just takes time to get used to it is all.
