How do you rate his overall performance over both legs?

For me, pretty poor and he was lucky to be on the winning side.

The way he went hunting for his 2nd goal when Madrid are holding on was the exact sort of thing I hate about his game.

Time after time there were other better options on, which would of killed the game, but instead he got tunnel vision and played hero ball...which only brought more pressure on Madrid because it kept Utd in the game.

If Rooney scores that chance near the end and Man Utd somehow steal it, boy, I would of slayed him.

And thats just ignoring the entire rest of the game where he failed to do anything, didnt beat his man or create at all.

yeah Dani that pissed me off at the end. We could've killed the game off countless of times but he opted to shoot instead of passing to a better option.

1. Would you ask me about Messi if I was not a Barca fan. You know, I can have an opinion on a Madrid player without it being motivated by the fact I hate the very soul of your club.

2. To answer the question, Messi has had a very good overall season. In 2012 he was his fantastic self..since the turn of the year he has been very bad by his standards, but more importantly he is playing with a level of selfisness I dont expect from him.

3. His movement today was useless, in fact, he didnt move..because for once a team didnt stupidly come to attack Madrid, but to play compactly. So he couldnt move anywhere and be effective, his "best movement by a country mile" which is obvious nonesense had no impact today. Madrid required intellegance, creativity and selflessness to penetrate the an Utd defence..Cristiano did not provide that.

This bad performance was one the few few few bad games from him this season, he has been pretty consistent this season tbh.

The problem with his performance is it wasn't bad. it was shite. a WC player can't play like this. i mean he was lost. in last 15 minutes he could've help us scoring 2-3 more goals just by passing the ball.

Stop the nonsense, he was clearly emotional returning to the place which made him, he did well under the circumstances and scored the winner, he would return back to beast mode after this match.

Ronaldo was a pain for Madrid today. Kept shooting to space when their was clearly a better play with a simple pass. Wasted chances...

Tbh it looked like he actually shot the ball at De Gea on purpose. He seemed very affected by his emotions.
