I have come to the conclusion that Wenger did not want Clichy to stay, I think he has the replacement in mind and soon we will know who that is. I dont think he will be anyone from the EPL.

I had a dream last night that Wenger had signed Hulk, I was so happy, if he does come I will buy his jersey right away.

I would have rather Nasri left than Clichy a thousand times. Defenders nowadays are a pain in the ass to find. I wouldn't mind Enrique but I don't know much about him. 8m is a fair and decent price. What are his strengths?

Gibbs is nowhere near ready for that role, apart from him not being solid defensively, he's a huge injury risk. Going from a horse who is rarely injured and tired to a pony with glass legs is a no no.

Cissokho sounds mighty fine. French, good and is not at all linked with us (these being the players Wenger signs... the ones not linked with us). Baines said no to Bayern because he didn't want to leave Liverpool, so I'm not sure he'd want to move to London.

Cissokho could be expensive because he's good in FIFA11. we all know what happens to players who are good in video games - they get overhyped.

Please don't mention Cissokho; not after the season that he's had. I'd honestly rather play Gibbs then go out and spend that much money on a player like Cissokho. Not that Cissokho is "bad" or anything, but honestly he got overhyped big time. Not as good as most would make you believe.

all i have 2 say is Wenger is not stupid..

Its seems increasingly likely that we are going to see Gibbs with the starting spot.

Gibbs if he would have avoided all those injuries might have been ready for the spot... but no way he's ready now. He's been months off on injury alone. He gets injured and what happens? Oh yeah, we're screwed. Can't play in 4 competitions with only 1 left back. Even if Gibbs is given the nod, we still need a bench guy or a horse who's never injured.

Cissokho had a poor season, but just like 95% of Lyon players.
that doesnt mean hes poor.

the season before that, he played very well, and his little time at Porto was even better.

however i agree that he may be overhyped by some (& would cost big money -15-20mil-), but thats because theres very few good & young LB's out there at this moment.

Even if Cissokho has had a bad season (i don't really know myself) i still think he's going to improve a lot, and he's already pretty close to clichy's level.

Will Wenger spend? By the looks of it, the whole thing is seen to be a promotion of sorts to Gibbs..

we all know gibbs will get injured like he has done in the past. we must prepare for this as we have already faced such consequences in the past.

it's frustrating really, because if he weren't injured all the time i'd actually be ok with him staying first choice.
