Re: Ryan Giggs
The difference in mentality between Giggs and Evra compared to Moyes is startling.
They act and sound like winners, the latter......

That would be epic beyond words.
But it would completely destroy whatever ounce of confidence Clevs had left. lol. too harsh.

Re: Ryan Giggs
nice 4-0 win to start the day. I think mata should be integrated in his plan from now to see if giggs can maximize his potential. Same with Kagawa

Re: Ryan Giggs
From Lindegaard's blog (is this a thing now?) talks about Giggs and Moyes. It's nice he has said something positive about Moyes, someone had to be respectful, and he was classy about it. I really wish Moyes thanked the players in his statement, it has painted him and the club badly with all these stories that have now emerged.
On tuesday morning the cooperation between Manchester United and David Moyes was brought to an end after a season marked by poor performances. Instead, Ryan Giggs has been put in place, at first, as a temporary solution for the remainder of the season. Much has been said and written about Moyes afterwards.
As a Manchester United player and especially as a Manchester United fan it has been a frustrating period for several reasons. The media in England have run stories without any grasp of reality about how horrible the situation should've been under the old manager - simply because it's not true.
The tone has been anything but acceptable towards both David Moyes and Manchester United. In my eyes the reality is simple - the results have not been sufficient and that has affected the cooperation.
For me there's nothing more to it than that. David Moyes is a good man and whatever one may think of him, he deserves the same kind of respect now as he did eight months ago.
Instead, Ryan Giggs has been hired as a temporary solution for the remaining games of the season. Some might question whether it can work going from being a teammate into being the manager from one day to the next. Normally, I would have my reservations, but in Giggs' case it's another matter.
Ryan Giggs has always held a sort of professional distance to his teammates. He opened his mouth when it was relevant and people have always listened. What we have seen the first week has been more than convincing. The parallels with Sir Alex Ferguson is striking and it is clear that Ryan Giggs has been learning from history's most awe-inspiring football manager. His last speech before the team went on the pitch for the match against Norwich was terrifying(chilling) in a way that I've only experienced from Sir Alex Ferguson - "do not disappoint the audience!"
It probably sounds rather naive and impetuous and I understand peoples skepticism about any conclusion drawn in the light of four trainings, a match and a day off, but to me that we are dealing with a new Guardiola.
The question is whether he's already able to realize the enormous potential he possesses. Fortunately, it's 100 percent the club's decision and not mine to make. And whatever the club decides, I'm sure that everyone in and around the team will respect it.

Re: Ryan Giggs
With all the news about van Gaal, this is kind of getting swept under the rug, but today, Ryan Giggs has officially retired as a player after 23 glorious years.

Re: Ryan Giggs
Frigging hell. What an upside of emotion. I think everyone saw it coming, but still....
All the very best to him. Our greatest legend.
Hopefully he's as successful off the pitch for us as he was on the pitch.

Be honest here guys, does anyone actually want this guy to be our manager? I hope he never becomes United manager. I would rather get a manager that has a clue about coaching.

Re: Ryan Giggs
Dont know for sure. Lvg has said nice things about him and his experience of working under 2 greats first as a player under fergie and now under lvg might educate him tactic wise.
Its true however that he lacks a certain coach's aura. Only time will tell. First perhaps its better he leave for smaller teams in the premier league and take up their jobs like Solksjaer.
Certainly he wont be the one succeeding lvg. If he is to be a manager here that will only happen after a stint of another manager, pep hopefully

If Pep come to United I would think that he has finally gone senile. if LVG is taking this long to get his methods across, Pep will take at least a season more. Although having LVG does help bed them in as they both use positional play although Pep's is far more focused on the vertical axis, which makes it harder. I think of LVG as a masters and Peps as a PHD

Re: Ryan Giggs
Yea but when LvG's tenure ends, it will be better if someone who uses the same or similar system takes up the job. I wasnt talking about sacking lvg and hiring pep after one season or one and a half season. Lvg needs time at least 3 years to let his philosophy seep through the players. 3-4 years of LvG after which probably he will retire making the team taking the 'masters' in positional play; and then someone who professes the higher level of the philosophy like pep as you said can take charge, so that under him the team can get their 'PhD'.

I love Giggs as a player/legend but....NO,NO,NO. He has to earn his stripes at another club before being rewarded the privilege of managing United.
Sentimentality is something that the club has to detach from. Has been a detriment to our progress recently.
