You swapped Cassano for Pazzini.
AC got nothing on Inter.
And tell me how's that worked out for them? Besides being rested once a week, causing dressing room problems and being older than Pazzo?
If anything , the deal worked better for us. Pazzo having an amazing season and making us the most prolific attack in Serie A this season: El Shaarawy (16 goals) & Pazzini (13).

Pazzini in this Juve would be huge success but I LOVE MATRI !

Italian Reports suggest that renewal talks with Pogba have begun that will keep at the club until 2017 with an annual salary of €2.5m.

Daelhi in the reserves is better than Pogba, he will have taken that mercenaries spot anyway.
Our reserve is owning serie a.. Our reserve. Yet our midfielders aren't good enough?
This is like barca losing cesc.. No biggie. We just signed Germany's best am to replace old Pogba.. Woe is us.
Indeed. Who needs Sneijder when you have Cleverley.

Re: Paul Pogba !!
Cyber is right tbf, Cleverly is exactly what they need and i'm still not convinced Pogba would fit into Yanited's system.
Playing in a 3 man midfield with a totally different style of play and playing in a 2 man midfield who use the wings exclusively is a totally different monster.
I don't think people realise the difference between a 2 man midfield and a 3 man midfield it is incredibly drastic.
Of course they would have preferred to keep him, as they tried to do so but Cleverly does fit their style and system better.

Re: Paul Pogba !!
How will he not fit into United's system and Cleverley will? Man Utd still play a two man midfield and the two men in this midfield are supposed to be box-to-box. From what I've seen, Pogba is good defensively as well as offensively.

Re: Paul Pogba !!
Sorry, but i had to drop in here lol.
The midfielders for Juve have a lot of attack and even scoring responsibilities (especially vidal) because, frankly, the forwards are meh. So to say that the midfielders are playing traditionally in a 433 is inaccurate. The fullbacks at Juve also bomb forward whenever they can... so the midfielders spend a lot of time covering for the fullbacks.
Cleverley is not even in the same league as Pogba lol. There's not a single thing he does as well as Pogba. Pogba would easily hold his own in any scheme... consider that he was formed as a AM in France and still plays the main creative role with France U20. He can do it all. He just needs to gain experience and keep his head on straight.
Pogba is basically the midfield version of Varane... you keep looking for things wrong with him but you can't.

Re: Paul Pogba !!
Because Cleverly is a lot smarter and a lot better suited to the role asked of him.
And no they are not supposed to be box to box if they were then Pogba would have walked into the team a long time ago.
Man Utd's midfield 2 are supposed to protect the back 4 by holding their positions, recycle possession and playmake for the likes of Rooney, Nani, Kagawa, RVP etc etc.
Its nowhere near as easy as it sounds and again if they were box to box Cleverly and Carrick wouldn't even play as both are distributors and playmakers and would get eaten alive in a box to box role.
And Sports if you would care to read i never said Cleverly was as good but this isn't Fifa.

Yeah... they don't watch it. Tbh, the biggest joke in terms of tactics is the EPL. Love to watch the games because they play fast. But there are only 2 tactics employed in EPL mostly: Plan A and PTB. You rarely see variations of tactics in that league.El Shaarawy wrote:It just amazes me how many people think their team can roflstomp Serie A easily

You know, it is possible for Pogba to be better than Clev and not start? Thats not a knock on Pogba either, Sir Alex may just prefer a different type..doesnt mean better.
I dont get the big deal.
Pogba would not start for Man Utd, I know this for a fact.
Doesnt make him any less of a player.

Re: Paul Pogba !!
Mole... you don't watch Juve. You don't realize that Pogba goes B2B if he's in for Vidal or Marchisio or plays a flow moderator if he's in for Pirlo. It's not a stagnant tactic at Juve.... Conte plays a very dynamic midfield system because that's the strength of his team by far.
Only reason Pogba didn't get his chance at Man U was that he was only 18 and SAF thought he could string him along for another year. He didn't have the courage to trust him because the other midfielders were not strong enough... overall, it was too much of a risk and the EPL race was too tight for it.
Bad move by SAF and Juve stole him. Happens often with big teams tbh.

At the end of the day, we're talking about lifting here. And Pogba could out lift Cleverly so any other point is null and void.

Clev has certain qualities that fit for United's system and Pogba has certain qualities that fit for Juve's, how about we leave it at that

Nah i watch them and do pay attention but what Pogba does for Juve isn't relevant its a totally different system with less individual reliance than he would have at Man Yanited.
You cannot compare the two, Cleverly fits them like a glove and its not easy to perform in a 2 man midfield i'm absolutely convinced he wouldn't perform as well as he does for Juve for Yanited.
Doesn't mean Cleverly is better though just he's a more suitable partner for Carrick in Yanited's style and system.

Re: Paul Pogba !!
Pogba might be a bigger loss in some years from now, I mean Carrick is 31, Scholes and Giggs are close to retiring, Anderson is constantly injured and Fletcher may never return and if he does who knows to what level.
Right now they are fine, but in 2-3 years it could be different because all they will have is a probably declining Carrick, Cleverly and Jones to really rely on who himself is more of a specialist defensive player in the midfield and they probably still have hope will be a centerback.

Re: Paul Pogba !!
The only way I see Cleverley fits in Man Utd's system is that they've attempted to play possession football. Even then, Man Utd's emphasis has always and always been on wing play. Most of the times they score a goal and shift their focus to defending-only and in such systems Pogba will do a better job than Cleverley. SAF's stubbornness is a major factor why many of their kids with good potential have left the club recently.

Well short term no, but long term yes as they will need him to replace Carrick.
Oh well their loss.

Re: Paul Pogba !!
I dont mean to pour water on anyones theory, but when you are making the "fits better in a system" (completely legit btw), you cant ever really be wrong unless the players mentioned are terrible in that system.
Cleverly fits, Pogba fits. Sure. But if you wanna separate the two, the better question is this. If your having a pick up game, or starting a team from 0, who are you picking first?

Sure, Pobga, but was the question really about whos better? I thought the question was more, is Sir Alex a retard for letting him go? Even though he didnt really let him go.
