iPad Mini vs Kindle Fire HD
Has anyone used either of these, or have any opinion on them?
I'm thinking about getting one of them in the next month or so

Re: iPad Mini vs Kindle Fire HD
Nexus 7 bro, Kindle is fine and all but it doesn't have Google play and only has it's own app store
Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire is cheaper then Mini ($100), better specs (216px for Nexus and Fire vs 163px for Mini), better resolution
the only reason you should buy Ipad mini is if you like the iOS, otherwise specs wise it really bad

Re: iPad Mini vs Kindle Fire HD
Between both forget about the Kindle.
Do the Mini. Pay a higher premium of course but at least you get an OS worth using as opposed to the wanna be tablet you get from a Fire.
And between the Mini and Nexus, I'd go for the Nexus. Save yourself the money.
For the price it's not bad at all.

The only thing worth considering about iPad mini is the iOS environment.

Can you be more specific about what you mean re: "only thing worth considering" ?

That is actually one of the pros.
I went to a store that sells these babies, and I have to admit I have changed my mind. The specs comparison doesn't matter anymore. The experience of using a thin and very light-weight tablet with a larger screen than those of Fire and Nexus certainly impressed me. I enjoyed using it.
However, I will still wait for the version with retina display to come out before buying because paying a premium should get you the best possible package.

The ipad mini is a great tablet.
The size and weight of the device can't be matched.
On paper however the A5 is a bit disappointing. Paying a higher premium of course. But the device still is ideal for those wanting to use it as a ereader but get a whole lot more out of it.
