Further tests at the hospital have confirmed that Messi's injury is nothing bad. Messi left the hospital already #fcblive #ucl [rac1]

4 or 5 depending if CDR R16 2nd leg is in 2012 or 2013. It was first to be played 2012, then it got moved to 2013, but now it seems to be moved again to 2012, so I don't know.barca 2011 wrote:How many games are left now for the record?

Official memo from Barcelona saying it's a bruise in the bone. they don't say how long.
Radio says he is probably doubt for next match but should be fit for the next one.

I can attest to how much a bruised bone hurts like a motherhuffer
If it's in the foot, forget about walking for at least a week or two

Re: Messi Injury
Its appropriate that the poster boy of this generation is never injured, shows the direction football has taken. When was he last nobbled by an injury? some tackle by ujfalusi or however you spell it 3 years ago i think, even then he was out for about a week (amongst calls for ujfalusi to be banned for life )
I bruised my tibia once, took a while before it felt normal again, although this looks nothing like what happened to me

Are you saying players nowadays are injured less than other generations? Because I dont think thats true, I think players might get injured more often not less.

There are less contact injuries today. More muscle injuries though because bodies are getting pushed too far. Although barcelona seem to manage that pretty well

Re: Messi Injury
People's bone structure and weakness to injuries differ diego.
Players like ronaldo, messi, and benzema don't get broken bones very often, while the likes of diaby get injured all over the place.

Re: Messi Injury
HGH is supposed to increase muscle durability and exercise capacity ... I'm not blaming Messi because if he wasn't give HGH he would of been a dwarf but he does have an advantage over other players that didnt take medical drugs to increase body performance ...

Re: Messi Injury
I agree with that, though not the Barca thing. Indeed they fixed Messi and we used to manage everything very well, the first 2-3 seasons of Pep. Since then no.
Alexis has been plauged, Pique has been in and out, Puyol, Adriano, now Alves and Iniesta has had problems.

It didn't look too bad, but you never know about knees.
If Messi playing again this year is just a matter of standing some pain, I'm sure they can give him an injection in the knee.

Re: Messi Injury
jibers, its got nothing to do with drs or drugs and everything to do with the fact that pep sat him down and told him to cop on and have a serious thought about his diet and lifestyle!
up until pep's arrival as manager, messi's diet consisted of just steak and coca-cola apparently, and he never ate vegetables at all! so no wonder his muscles were always tearing or stretching when they werent being fed the right nutrients to keep them well!
and as for the lifestyle part, he was in danger of falling into the same lifestyle as ronaldinho and deco which is why there was such a rush to sell them and get them far away!
so yeah, he has been incredibly lucky with his injuries since pep arrived but when you know why you have to ask how many of his pre-pep injuries couldve been prevented by better man-management from rijkaard!!

Re: Messi Injury
Messi: “I finished the action with a shot because i was in pain and I thought it’d be the last time I’d touch a ball for a long time.”
Messi: "I'm fine, better than yesterday already. I don't know if I'll be ready for Sunday's game, will depend on evolution."
Messi: "I was in pain after the knock, so I thought it was really bad. Luckily, it was just that, a knock."
Messi: "What happened yesterday, can happen on training too. Every time you're out on the pitch, there's a risk to get injured."
Messi: "I thank the people for their support. To see that people care for you makes you happy.

You will most likely ignore this but here I go, I read somewhere that those injury he had at the start of his career were a side affect of his HGH treatment that would eventually disappear...
If you actually read through this thread you would have seen that I already mentioned it..
And also, if Messi is taking drugs then why aint Iniesta, Xavi, Adriano, Puyol, Pique, Thiago, Sanchez and Villa? Wouldnt it help them with their injuries? Especially Iniesta, Sanchez and Adriano who seems to get injured every other week?
