I would really like to see Yesil get some run out... He seems like he can't miss for the Germany U-whatever teams he plays for, letting him go up against EL teams would be a boost for our squad depth, the kid himself, AND us fans...

I don't think we're taking this game easy. It's at Anfield so traveling is involved. We need a win to guarantee ourselves a place in the knockouts. I see Suarez, Gerrard, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson, Reina, Allen, Sterling all playing.
Here's the table as it stands now
1. Anzhi - 7
2. Liverpool - 6
3. Young Boys - 6
4. Udinese - 4
We have to win to ensure a more relaxing 6th matchday against Udinese in Italy.

Let Suso play in AM role, which he should play because he may not start in Swansea game. So shelvey and Suso go forward, covering for each other at times. If Yesil gets those through balls from Suso, I am sure he will finish at least one. But I think there also other young players who are in form. One of them can also be given a chance, playing Downing as left back.
I would also like Jones to start instead of Reina, I think we should keep on playing him. So for me team should be,
Jones
Flano,Coates,Carra,Downing
Sahin, Shelvey,Suso
Pacheco,Yesil,Assaidi

I'd give him a start if this wasn't such an important match for our EL campaign. Win here and we can take one of the more difficult last two games easier.
On the other hand we've got a BPL game on Sunday and Wednesday and we need our best XI for both of those, so maybe it would be wise after all to start an alternative side against Young Boys (whose club name I don't understand, btw, who the hell decides to name their football club Young Boys? I can't be the only one puzzled by this).

Leiva won't be in the squad for the game against Young Boys, according to Jimmy Rice (editor with LFC.com) but he could play a part in the match against Middlesbrough on Friday.

Echo saying the same.Lucas is likely to get 45 minutes against Middlesborough to get him upto fitness slowly.Hopefully everything goes right.
As for the game 3 points is an absolute must.Should play Skrtel and Coates in defense with Enrique and Johnson.Sahin Allen and Henderson in midfield . Suso Assaidi and Yesil in attack.

Re: Liverpool vs Young Boys BSC | 22nd November 20.05 GMT | Europa League
Just to confirm it one last time. Colin Pascoe, BR's assistant, has said the same thing about Lucas that he would only get 45 mins against Middlesbrough in the reserve game on Friday and non before that.
Good news, he just started training so we don't want him straining himself in a very tricky fixture against Young Boys.
Also don't be surprised when you see Suarez start, which I would bet my house on that he will.

Suarez is a must for me. There's no travel involved, so fatigue for the weekend won't be an issue.

But he'd have to start on Thursday, Sunday and Wednesday then. I'd put him on the bench and see if we need him in the second half.

He's a professional athlete that gets paid outrageous amounts of money to play a game he loves. You don't think he can play 3 games in a week. At 25 he isn't even bothered about it.
Heck his peers are playing 3 games a week all the time (Messi, Ronaldo, RVP, Rooney, etc). If we ever make CL with Suarez in our team, don't you think he'll have to play both in CL and in the league games.

Yes he can play 3 games in 7 days, but it's not impossible that he would suffer from fatigue in such a run of games. I wouldn't risk that because the BPL games are much more important than this EL match.

Re: Liverpool vs Young Boys BSC | 22nd November 20.05 GMT | Europa League
Shelvey as a striker and neither Morgan nor Yesil in the squad... I suppose this is probably due to Rodgers' desire to qualify with a game to spare, as well as keeping players fresh for the U-21 and U-18 games that are coming up, but it can't be great for the young strikers' confidence when they're snubbed for another young (but not as young) midfielder in the striking role. An odd choice, we'll have to see how it works out.

Any indication on whether Wisdom's substitution was tactical or injury-related?

It was a tactical change Red. Like I said we can expect more of these early substitutions with Rodgers.

Re: Liverpool vs Young Boys BSC | 22nd November 20.05 GMT | Europa League
surely tactical as wisdom delivered a lovely cross just before getting substituted.
but cant really understand d formation, it is so unpredictable, positions continuously interchanging but that is what creating problems for YB.

Looked like a tactical one, Well it worked all right.
Shelvey has been amazing so far. Great goal.

This uni net is sucky, Barely catching glimpses of the game.
Suso and Henderson misses
Anyways time to put it the bag.

Shelvey has been at the heart of everything till now liverpool have created so far. So nice to see that Shelvey taking shape of what is to come in the future for liverpool. He is so alert on the field, with pin point passes. That exchange of passes between suso, cole and shelvey. I am just loving it.
