Edit: I understand Fellaini has had a great season, but if you aren't going to put him in the position that he actually plays, I don't really understand how/why you include him at all (Same for Suarez)
Ruiz has played like 5 games in PL this season. Fellaine >>> Ruiz by a long shot. And Suarez >> RVP since he's been doing it with shittier players around him.
yes but RVP has been far more clinical then Suarez
RVP has 8 goals, 2 of them are penalties.
I would play Suarez up front alone and Mata can take those penos. RVP needs to score from the open more to be close to Suarez.
Both have 11 goals in all competitions.

Not accustomed to including keepers in this sort of thing.
Thinking about it I don't know who to put there. I would put Toure but he doesn't really deserve to be there.
Maybe Valencia on the right in a sort of auxillary right midfielder role.

1. This is PL team of the season not all competitions teams of the season.
2. Suarez has taken about 40 more shots than RVP
3. Ruiz has been fantastic this season and him being there is no laughing matter.
Messiah "Aggerswagger" wrote:fair enough, I for one would definitely include both of them. No point in including Mirallas, whose very inconsistent.
take dem red tinted glasses off mate.
Also the Suarez deserves it more because he's been doing it with worse players is the funniest thing i have seen in this thread
Falcao deserves player of the year above Messi and Ronaldo does he?

Arsenal have had their worst start to a season in 30 years, yet Swanhends give them the most allocation of players of any other team ?

What kind of question is that
If you could only rate people you've seen play every single game in full nobody would rate anybody but people on their own teamsMessiah "Aggerswagger" wrote:Swanhends wrote:Hart

Idc that he's only played in 5 games, I've seen him play about 4 times and he's impressed me every time
I gave him the edge over Fellaini cause Fulham have been scoring more goals
So why's it possible to rate someone based on clips/hype?

Tbf they have statistically the best defense in the league and the players he chose were defensively players

Except that they don't and statistically, Stoke and Man City have conceded less goals than Arsenal.
but big clubs get the favourable bias as per usual I guess

Re: PL team of the season so far
He only selected 2 Arsenal players... what's the big deal? Jenkinson has been fantastic, defensively he's been the best RB in the league. With him and Gibbs we had the best defense in the league. And Arteta is well known about being great this and the past season.
Because Wenger has been a complete flop, that doesn't mean some players didn't play well.

Re: PL team of the season so far
^ for a second I thought Clichy is still an Arsenal player
no, no problems with it, that's the whole point of discussion.
But I hate it when a team of season is dominated by a few teams, I always try to make it as diverse as possible, giving attention to those who don't get enough credit already (e.g. Olsson, Shawcross, Malumbu, etc)

Re: PL team of the season so far
Lol, when you look at that team it's full of ex and current Arsenal players
Well I made that mistake aswell, I only selected Baines and Mirallas outside Arsenal, City, United and Chelsea.
Maybe I have to make another team to make it as fair as possible.

That's harder, my try:
Hart
Clyne Shawcross Verthongen Baines
Arteta Morrison
Ben Arfa Mata Suarez
RvP

Ben Arfa Mata Suarez
RvP
Some players are out of position, but that's the best I could do.

Before yesterday, Arsenal had still allowed the least goals in the whole league despite having one of the toughest opening schedules out of anyone...
In addition to that, they have only let up more than 1 goal three times this season: against Chelsea, ManU, and Fulham...Neither Jenkinson nor Gibbs played vs ManU or Fulham
Btw "big team bias" ?? Whats biased about picking players from the teams that have been performing the best?
Yohan Modric wrote:So why's it possible to rate someone based on clips/hype?
Who said anything about clips/hype? Just because you don't watch every single game doesn't mean you're rating based off that.
So far this season I've seen West Brom play Liverpool, Everton, Fulham, QPR - and like one half of West Brom-Newcastle...With the exception of Fulham (where they were overrun) Mulumbu has impressed in all of them and West Brom are 4th in the table 10 games in...Well worthy of a place

I really didn't want to include Baines...he hasn't been poor, he just hasn't really done anything to impress me - but I couldn't really think of anyone else to put at left back since I couldn't use Clichy or Gibbs...
Similar situation to Sterling...I couldn't think of anyone else to put on the wing, so while Sterling has been sort of inconsistent I think, at least he's impressed me a little bit...although some of that may be down to having low expectations for him
