So say Anathema in their song “Everything”. And this reminds me of what makes us fans keep believing.

Tonight, after watching the whole game quite peacefully without ever making a noise, I felt like some girl is leaving my place after a tame one-night stand.

No energy, no passion, no vein in danger of exploding in my eyes or on my forehead, no hoarse voice after the game, there was really nothing going on in my house, just like there was really nothing going on in San Siro, to tell the truth.

This is not a difficult period, this is rather a lost period. This is a hole in time.

From a footballing point of view, this was an Inter team easily beatable by an average Serie-B side, and we were no better.
A Serie-C2 side would have beaten us if they really believed in themselves.

Lonely kids tend to daydream, no, let me correct that: Lonely kids tend to live in their own fantasy world, a world in which they are the unrivaled boss, the king. Lonely kids are not welcome among other ones, but in their world, none of the unfriendly faces of the real world would have any place either. Such a nice place. You should visit sometime.

I am the lonely kid, not because I am not welcome among friends, but due to the fact that my beloved Milan isn’t welcome among the world’s finest clubs. We are not great anymore, we’re not even good anymore.


Losing to this laughable Inter is something only a laughable Milan can manage to do, it was a really tough task what we did. This might be just a game at first sight, but the real loser is Italian Football as a whole, which is becoming less prestigious than Eredivisie, with its traditional big boys like Milan and Inter not deserving a place in Erstedivisie in all fairness.

I really don’t feel like talking about the technical aspects… What am I? A retard? Was there any technical aspect to this game?
Alright, now that you insist, I’ll describe what I saw.

OK, here you got eleven men in red & black, lining up against another eleven man unit in blue & black. Exciting so far.

Those men in red & black were on LSD and thought their 19-year-old wonderkid is their good old colossal attacker, Ibrahimovic, so they hit the ball as hard as they could and from wherever they could in order to throw the ball on the boy’s head. Very clever.

While busy sending perfectly weighted long balls, they occasionally found a bum on the right by the name of Urby something, who had sworn to waste every last goddamn ball the best way he possibly could.

Now, on the other side, men in blue & black made Laurel and Hardy look good, and had it not been for the character and skill of some of their old warhorses, they would have had to ask themselves why they were even there.

All I had in my mind during this boring, one-minute-feels-like-a-millennium kind of time, was this simple question: Why am I watching this?

I could have spent my precious time going for a jog, maybe play some videogame, or calling some lost friends. Instead, I was wasting electricity by using the TV set which was showing some weird program that in a vague sort of way, reminisced a Football match. The green rectangle was there, the 22 guys were wandering about, but that was it. Nothing more.


What next? We’re out of the UCL zone, I bet my kid’s life on this, but should we try and not get relegated? I mean, what harm would it do if we travel to the lower tier for a season? The last time we did that, some rich playboy bought us and invested a fortune on us, creating the best team in history.

Maybe luck will be on our side this time around too, so, let’s go…

Hi Iras! What's up buddy.. I am sorry to see you're disillusioned with 'this' Milan ,like many as i observe , though that's understandable.. But come on , we are not that fking bad.

We dominated the play. Inter could only sit back and oh lordy mercy us from the devil. We weren't effective of course , but that's not solely down to us.. Inter once again stood their ground firmly . They deserved their ridiculous non existing football once again.. Anyway . We can say a lot of shit about how unconvinsing this Milan is right now , but the truth is always somewhere in the middle , as always.

I must say , feelings came during the first minutes of the derby that i had forgotten since 2009; bad ones.. But as i was watching El Sharaawy or De Sciglio or Bojan , i reminded myself that i have watched a worse version of Milan . A Milan with no plan for the future , a Milan without evolution . After every defeat or ridiculous result, everyone was waiting for Berlusconi's lolipop once again .. That was far worse for me.

All great truths , begin as blashpemies. One could say that this Milan is a blashpemy itself, actualy i've already seen that written , compared to the glorious and succesfull past we have witnessed from Milan.
It's obvious though , Milan needs us more than ever . It's not a question of "realfanism" , like i've seen here and there.. It's about re-discovering the club you always loved , with new excitement and fresh ideas. Of course , change is never easy , but it's always rewarding . Now Milan is able to open the windows of the future and plan in it, even with half closed curtains currently ..

P.S . I know i said i would leave and all back in the summer , i actually read that post again and my hand automaticaly punched me in the eye (lol) , but i just couldn't help myself and not post after the games ended , especialy when i saw Mesbah play.. ( i still weak up crying during the night ) I had forgotten the never ending pessisism in the forum air after a few bad results and two days later , the diving change from the end of the world , to we can f**em all with this team , when Milan just wins a league game .. lol
Anyway , i did intend to leave , i thought that i had nothing left to offer . Though some days later Silva and Ibra was sold and i immediately wanted to post again lol. I realised then i was just tired for some reason and that a break would do me good.

But is it me , or this place is even more quiet than it was in the summer?

I actually feel the same way you had felt. I couldn't post here anymore because I really didn't know what else to say. I was so frustrated with the management, especially when TS was sold! I been trying to post here again but there is so much negativity now, I feel like I can't say anything positive anymore. I hope our Milan will rise again and be the champions of Europe. Unfortunately, at this rate, it won't be happening anytime soon, but I will never stop supporting my club regardless of what happens. Juve went through this a couple years ago and look at them now. We just need time and patience and our Milan will be back on top again.

It is natural to be upset when your club sells it's best players. Things couldn't possibly stay the same after their departure. It's ok to express negativity , though limited , when things are indeed going a negative way.

We let go half of the team this summer. That's relegation status , in normal occasions , but whether we agree or not , it had it's economical benefits , which were and are vital for the club. Can't argue with neseccity . It wasn't an easy decision in the first place and the consequences are even harder as we see. Nevertheless.

In a club , players always come and go . Coaches come and go . Presidents and money come and go. We stay however. We became fans and got married with Milan , our choice. So , like marriage , it's important to be there in difficulties , it's part of being a fan , even a Milan fan.
I understand many fans had used to in a different , more powerfull Milan. I am not sure when Milan will be able to compete for the Champions League again , hell i was almost sure we couldn't last year, it may well take some time. But the most important thing that rapidly is taking place is the evolution many wanted after 2008. \

Milan had to change , i am sorry if some can't grasp that vital idea. Sure , we won't be really competitive for a while , but so wasn't Juventus , or Dortmund , or Porto or Barcelona. It's just our time to adapt to the new stage of football . And no , neither Dortmund begun the change with Gotze and Lewandoski like they are today , from day one , nor Porto with Hulk and Falcao , or Barcelona with Messi and Villa. Great players will happen again , if we are close to the team to welcome them and support them.

I hope , despite all the shit , that we keep going like Dortmund did , many teams must follow their example. And their fans example , because some years ago , Dortmund was non existent in top level football but the stadium couldn't take one fan more , so crowded it was , just to watch Dortmund suck and fight to stay in the Bundesliga. We are way more spoiled than Dortmund , hence the common reaction to the events , but that's past now. Enough with negativity , let's just be there for Milan whatever the outcome.

About the current state of our Milan section, I'll talk in my Cafe, but now...

Look, this post was supposed to be black comedy, so don't expect me not to exaggerate like hell.

On the other hand, I reiterate that right now, we can only be pessimistic.

Our team hasn't changed really, it has only gotten worse.
You can't lose Gattuso, Nesta, Ibra and Thiago and then expect the team to do well and label this drastic restructure a "Change".

You improve by replacing 34-year-old Gattuso with a top 22-year-old talent. Not some bum like Traore.

You can't replace the best center-back pairing of 2010s with Acerbi-Zapata. This is no change, this is breaking the team's legs.

I know that we will rise again and dominate, like we've always done and during this dark period my blood will only get more Rossonero, but this team is trash, and the coach is a pussy.

Our management are taking decisions that while are admirable from a financial POV, are nevertheless ruining our image.

Guys, I know for a fact that things won't stay like this, but I am not at all optimistic about this season.

Right or wrong, whether on new world-class players or improved scouting and youth centers, WE MUST SPEND. End of the story.

This team lacks drive, lacks a leader.

Ambrosini is as good as can be, but he's no Tsubassa, nor is he a scorer, a difference-maker or a game-changer.

We need someone who can save our asses in bad situations. We've seen Kaka and Ibra in recent years, now it's time for someone new.

If El Shaarawy is meant to be the one, then we have to spend to support him. Otherwise, we gotta get someone good. Real good.

You are not 'wrong' Iras. I fully get why are you thinking like this , i really do. Witnessing such a downgrade within the club , isn't the easiest thing to get along with. Of course you can describe some replacements like you have , it's understandable.

The club board , made some offloading this summer and choose some replacements , based on our financial well being as you very well said as well. You see , any affordable replacement for some of these players were bound to dissapoint. I understand that Traore isn't an adequate replacement for any of these players. Neither was Bojan for Ibra , i mean come on , Bojan is good and all , but he is no Ibra.

But we must begin from somewhere ; if Milan spent all that money for high profile players , then what's the point of selling Ibra and Thiago ? Or letting free the majority of the senators for that matter. We must endure some silly moves until the real replacements show up. We didn't always have a Nesta and a Gattuso , or a Seedorf.And the real replacements more often than not are under our nose..

You said , we have to spend. Well , Milan did spend serious money on youngsters and for the youth sectors in general , over the last year . Sharaawy is the result of this for example. De Sciglio is the result of Milan's new strategy , Bojan and Niang are. How many talents we bought last year? You see , this is the change . Real change isn't immediate . It will take time.

As for some of the immediate replacements , well , some of them were really good buys , some prove they weren't , like always and forever , in any club.But i would like to read more about why you call Allegri a pussy (lol) , before i continue. Did you see him yell in that ref's face in the Della Madoninna ? lol , that's not something a pussy would do in my opinion. Although , i must say , i think you mean of his non existant reaction during the summer , when the club sold our only world class players left. This must be it , right?

Firstly, welcome back Dante.

The fact is that a team exists for its fans. We are ecstatic in victory, and we suffer in defeat. If this section seems quieter than it normally is, it is because there's not much to talk about in this sufferance.

We all generally have the same ideas about what is going wrong in our club at the moment, but what is unclear is the future. There is hope. And I think most Milan fans here are optimistic about what lies ahead of the short-term.

However, it is not unnatural for people to be most influenced by the current state of affairs. Let's not beat around the bush, it's bad. That's not pessimism, it is realism.

Our squad is not the spirited, all-conquering league of extraordinary gentlemen that we have become accustomed to over the years. And there were many years, and many great times. We won everything. And then we did again. And again, and again, and again.

What was once a fearsome platoon consisting of only the elite has been reduced to a rag-tag bunch of players. They are unsure. We are unsure. And so we now find ourself pondering the possible salvation of our season, only a few games after its commencement.

Whether we recover or not, I will be watching. I will be waiting. For one day, maybe not the next game, maybe not the next season, but one day, we will return to those glorious days.

Once again i find your post right to the point. The fans , us , need to be there for Milan whatever the outcome , like you underline in your latest sentences. It's something that it's not easy sometimes , but that's just the beauty of football , it rewards everyone , not just Milan and their fans .

What i wanted to specify and you got it , is that it's natural to be upset and express negativity when things are indeed not going well. (In our case , went worse than not going well..)But! It's natural to do that for a limited time period ; you move forward after that .

Of course it cannot always be pessism , i agree. Being realistic sometimes can be 'translated' as such , but here's what many are missing ; a realistic person , doesn't just stick to the bad he sees. He doesn't always say why ? or why this and why that.. he says , why not ?

Why not look at the positives ? Why not look at the oportunities given ? Why not being optimistic after difficulties when it's the only way ? Why not change ?

In a few words ,we may not be that great on the field as of now . but we have the fundations once again to start and rebuilt the skyscraper that Milan is ,who knows even bigger. But i also fully get that skyscrapers aren't built in a day or two.. Something last.
