Who will be Milan's top scorer at season's end?
Who will be Milan's top scorer at season's end?
Including CL, Serie A and Coppa Italia.
Stephan El Shaarawy
Why?
He's our most energetic forward, growing in confidence and seems to play well, even when the rest of the team is lost for ideas and/or motivation. He improves every game.
Why not?
He's young, which could limit his playing time under Allegri - despite the strong bond between the two. Another reason that he may not be our top scorer is that he has primarily been a second striker rather than a pure target man like Pazzini. The question is whether he can play this slightly deeper role and still score the weight of goals. He must work on his consistency and improve his finishing.
Giampaolo Pazzini
Why?
He's a goal poacher who specialises in finishing chances off. He is an opportunist, always looking to take advantage of defender's indecisiveness and get touches in goal-mouth scrambles. He is skillful and has the strength to hold up the ball nicely.
Why not?
At Inter, Pazzini started the season with a superb performance, only to flop. While that's not a rational reason for him not succeeding at Milan, it may be worth keeping in mind. Other considerations are that he needs supply to score goals. He is a creative player, but he's not capable of readily creating chances and scoring them himself like Ibrahimovic was. With our very mediocre midfield, he may be starved of the ball in many games.
Alexandre Pato
Why?
He's our most talented forward. He has speed, intelligence, creativity and finishing skills. He has the versatility to play as a second striker, wide striker or centre forward. He is very compatible with both Robinho and El Shaarawy.
Why not?
Injuries. Not only do they prevent him from playing, but they affect his performances when he returns to the team. I can't recall an extended period of time where Pato wasn't injured since the second half of the Scudetto winning season (when Ibra was banned for several games).
Robinho
Why?
Fast, creative and complements Pato well. He had a super pre-season and looked dangerous on matchday 1, before being subbed out due to injury.
Why not?
He gets into good positions, but has some really shocking finishing at times. Tends to be more of an assist-maker than a goalscorer.
Bojan
Why?
A talented player who only needs to be given a chance to start consistently.
Why not?
Has struggled to show the promise of his performances in the Barca youth system. Has never scored more than 10 goals in a season. Allegri's least preferred choice up front (other than Niang).

If pato manges to stay fit, he'd be the one
Otherwise, I think it will be between el Sharaawy and Robinho

I'd go with Pato if he would stay fit but sadly that never seems to happen. But I'm thinking that Pazzini, SES or Robinho will. Of the 3 I think SES might do it

SES will, only player to get close is Pato if he doesn't get injured.

If Robinho will be Milan's top scorer, something is wrong in this great, great team.
