Rank our Managers
Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan, Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness, Roy Evans, Gerard Houllier, Rafael Benitez, Roy Hodgson, Kenny Dalglish, Brendan Rodgers.
Rank them from best to worst.
For me:
1. BILL SHANKLY - There is no doubt in my mind that he is by far the greatest manager we've ever had. Paisley might have been the better tactician but everything LFC is today is down to this guy. 15 year spell at the club of pure magic and greatness. He loved the club like no other and forever will go down as the leader of the Red Crusade. Won 3 league titles, 2 FA Cups, UEFA Cup, and 3 Charity Shields.
2. BOB PAISLEY - Our most successful and best years came under Paisley. Even under Shankly as assistant he was the real brains when it came to tactics and coaching. He made our dreams come true and built upon what Shankly had already started. His spell lasted 9 years and those years were by far the best the club has to date. Won 6 League titles, 3 European Cups, UEFA Cup, 3 League Cups, 5 Charity Shields.
3. KENNY DALGLISH - The only man to have had two different spells for our club as manager. His passion and love for the club is second to none. Built his teams upon what his predecessors have already embedded on the team. Continued our dominance in England. Sadly he couldn't manage us in Europe during his first stint because of the English clubs ban during the late 80s. Had a 7 year spell with us (5.5 the first stint and 1.5 the second stint). Won 3 League titles, 2 FA Cups, 1 League Cup (2012), and 4 Charity Shields.
4. RAFA BENITEZ - The man that made us dream again. Could've been higher on my list had his team won that 2007 CL final or the 08-09 League title. He brought 6 years of pure ecstasy back to Red side of Merseyside that's been missing since the 80s. The man from Madrid fell in love with our club and to this date wants to return. I love the man to death. Since his departure we have been a midtable team. Arguably the greatest tactician to ever grace Anfield. Won us our fifth European Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, and a FA Community Shield.
5. GERARD HOULLIER - Another great man that fell in love with our beloved club. I started supporting Liverpool under his tenure and I simply loved the guy. Truly bled for the club day in day out. Brought in to partner Roy Evans but that didn't work out so he was given the rains of the club. He brought stability back to Anfield and kept us towards the top of the table, something that wasn't a given in the 90s. In his 6 year spell he rejuvenated Liverpool and ultimately put us in a position to be able to commit in the future. Won UEFA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, 2 League Cups, and a Charity Shield.
6. JOE FAGAN - Would be higher on my list had his tenure been longer. He won us the treble in his first season. Then took us to another European Cup final, only for Heysel Disaster to occur. Had the Heysel not happened, who knows Fagan could've turned out to be another Paisley or Shankly. He retired shortly after Heysel as the disaster took its toll on him. Won us 4th European Cup, a League title, and a League Cup.
7. ROY EVANS - Was a product of the Boot Room and loved among the fans and players. A great man, as he was described by all the players that played under him. He unfortunately inherited a Liverpool side that his predecessor (Souness) had completely ruined. He started to slowly rebuild the team that was mediocre at best. Gave Owen and Carra their debuts. Fowler, McManaman, and Jaime Redknapp blossomed under his rein. Sadly won us only a League Cup in his 4 year tenure at the club but he improved the team drastically and prepared us for a better future.
8. BRENDAN RODGERS - He's only been manager for 4 months but has already surpassed the facepalm worthy Woy and godforsaken Souness. Just his style of play and his charismatic personality is enough to win a spot ahead of the other two. I'm looking forward for him to be moving up this list in the two years.
9. GRAEME SOUNESS - I have no words. SIMPLY AWFUL. What a shite of a manager. He was a great player for us but he is the reason we fell from our dominance after King Kenny left. And to this day we are feeling the effects of his shitty tenure. Won us a FA Cup, but that was due to some of our players individual brilliance than anything to do with him. No words to describe how much I hate this guy.

Re: Rank our Managers
I just posted like 1,000 words only for 'the server to be busy' or something and it decided not to post.
My order was seen as this though:
1. Shankly
2. Paisley
3. Dalglish
4. Fagan
5. Rafa
6. Evans
7. Hou
8. Hodgson
9. Souness
I decided not to list Rodgers as it's way too soon in his career.
You can ask why I have the managers where they are but I really can't be bothered writing everything up again.

No one is disputing that at this point Art. We can maybe bring this subject up in about 6-7 years if BR is still with us.
