Re: Hugo Lloris wants talks with Villas-Boas... already!
Quite frankly Lloris doesn't deserve to start at this very moment. Friedel has been excellent while Lloris is being a cry-baby. Just because he has a bigger name it doesn't mean he has to start ahead of a player who's done nothing wrong so far and is working his ass off. Dunno about Villas-Boas's man management skills but he's doing right in this case. Players these days....

Clubs shouldn't sign multiple top GK's imo.

I rate Hugo highly as a Keeper but he is acting a tool here.
Its very unprofessional to go to a new club and expect to walk into the team no matter how much money was involved in the transfer. You get your head down and work hard and you get in the team that way. Not through moaning in the media.

Re: Hugo Lloris wants talks with Villas-Boas... already!
Lloris isn't at fault here other than being rather naive.
You should take nothing for granted in football. AVB not only insulted Freidel by promising his place to Lloris, then turned around and did the exact same thing to Lloris. Terrible stuff unbefitting a coach at this level of the game.
The coach should always play his best players. That's the only promise they should be making. Lloris should've known this, regardless of what AVB told him. I think both he and AVB have shown a certain degree of disrespect to Freidel here.

The way Brad has been playing, there is no way you can drop him. AVB is doing nothing wrong here.

i havent been following spurs but, if lloris hasnt had a chance since the beginning of the season yet, then i believe he has every right to be complaining, but if both have started some matches so far, and freidel simply outplayed lloris, there's a reason to drop lloris until he plays better.

DDG was benched in our last game and he didn't complain. He's still afraid of that hairdyer I guess.
Bottom line here is AVB sucked up big time in his comments.

i don't think AVB survives very long anyhow. The Spurs sold Modric and VDV.... and replaced them with nobody. Seems like Levy and AVB need to exchange contact info lol.
What a disastrous manager.

Re: Hugo Lloris wants talks with Villas-Boas... already!
My goodness some of you on here really are clowns. Can't believe I have to defend Villas-Boas here.
Friedel had a solid season last year, without making any glaring mistakes & helped Spurs finished 4th last year. And what does Levy do? Sign another keeper when Spurs are more in need of wide players, midfielders. Lloris was a Levy signing not an AVB one.
Friedel actually had an insane game in their last game & was the only reason they even got a point. Not to forget he's actually the record holder for consecutive appearances in PL history.
So what exactly do you expect AVB to do drop him despite him performing very well & being in good form? That would be extremely disrespectful & would only serve to cause dressing room problems.
If anyone's in the wrong it's that French wanker Lloris. He's shown he's not a team player & only cares about himself. He's disrespected a fellow colleague in Friedel thinking he deserves to automatically walk into the side & he's already brought bad publicity to his new manager because of a fairly innocuous comment.
Selfish tosser.
P.S. Every single signing & sale Tottenham made this summer was a Levy one. AVB wanted four players this summer, Willain, Oscar, Moutinho & Remy. Levy couldn't deliver on any of them players & threw AVB under he bus.

Re: Hugo Lloris wants talks with Villas-Boas... already!
So why did Lloris not ask Spurs whether he'd be first choice or not? In fact why did he even join a club that isn't even better than Lyon/on the same level as?
I'm sure he could of joined a better club like AC Milan, Inter, Arsenal and started right away.

Lloris doesnt seem to be complaining half as much as dudes on here.
He said it isnt nice to not be starting, which for someone who has started a longtime, is normal. Thats it.

He complained to Deschamps about it. Doubt he would have said anything about it publicly without Lloris' consent.

I stand corrected then.
I think he shouldnt complain, Friedel is balling.
You cant think you can stroll into a team just because your "Hugo Lloris". STFU and work for it.

AVB learned straight from Mou how to ostracize a player . So it is my opinion that this thread should be renamed to "Lloris ostracization thread".

Re: Hugo Lloris wants talks with Villas-Boas... already!
(Outside obversationa to follow...)
My guess is that Lyon really wanted the money and pressured Llloris to go. He had stated that he was content to stay at Lyon at least through this transfer window. Then, Spurs come back in for the payer and he's on a plane to London... Doesn't take a rocket scientist to draw conclusions there.
Lloris is an elite keeper, and they paid an elite price for him (in terms of keepers). It's not like Tottenham just bought Jack Butland... You don't buy that level of keeper for that price to sit him on the bench. You just bought the French #1 ffs...
With that said, AVB has every right to play Freidel if he wants. If Freidel is your guy, more power to you. But, I hope he knows that he's risking alienating a WC keeper and a £12 mil signing.
I don't particularly like that Lloris has come out so quickly in voicing his displeasure, but I certainly understand it. I would be shocked if there were no "understanding" that Lloris would be the starter. To be honest, I think much of the press about this has stemmed from the extended break in league play and the players conversing with their national team managers. Without the break, Freidel gets a start or two, and it's written off as Lloris getting settled. With the break, Freidel is described as the starter to the press, it has time to fester, Lloris gets to discuss with his NT manager, and he gets the opportunity of several pressers to comment on it. It's a recipe for blowing this whole thing out of proportion. We're still a ways off from ostricization. Let's wait a few game-weeks before making any real judgement. However, it certainly hints of AVB's man-management at Chelsea, doesn't it?

Re: Hugo Lloris wants talks with Villas-Boas... already!
Lloris should shut his yapper and be patient. Friedel has been fantastic so far, if Lloris is so good that he thinks he should be starting, he'll start. AVB was simply saying that in the form Friedel is in, he'll start. If Lloris can do better I'm sure he'll start because AVB wants and is under pressure for results and like any manager, he'll put the best team in.
Lloris is a fantastic keeper, Friedel is 41 or 42, point is, if he doesn't end up taking the #1 spot this year, he'll have it by next year, and keep it for as long as he's there.

I can't understand why a top5 GK would go to Spurs. There are many top teams, for example AC Milan, who need a great keeper
