3 goals in his last 3 games with one poor performance only because of his decision making, not his actual movement or challenging of the opposition, granted decision making is what counts. But then again the fact that this thread was bumped because of one poor showing in 7 matches makes my knee twitch...

I really wanted to vote "no", but I just don't think he has the finesse and finish combination close to the goal. Too many very bad passes and shots at goal (but not ON goal). I think he may have a spot on the team, just not starter minutes.

He did decently well last season, with RVP being the focal point of attack.

This season I can understand how he doesn't look as good, considering he's been playing as lone striker and the whole strike line has changed.

Hell, you could even ask the same question of Podolski. He sure hasn't been as prolific as his God status dictates. Giroud isn't that beast goal machine he was in Ligue 1.

The point is the whole front line has been crap, but it's understandable considering all the changes and also players missing in midfield.

Yet playing with a very different midfield and forward line... RVP is gone, and so is his goal threat and overall football brain. Song is gone and so is his creativity and determination. Walcott has been benched.

That's the whole front line changed, so it doesn't surprise me if he's not performing to Lille standards or whatever.

You don't just adapt to a club by time, you have to take tactics and different personalities into account.

I'd bench Giroud and give Podolski a couple of starts as a striker.

These are really lame excuses. i expect more from a footballer brought for more than 10mill. All you are giving me right now is reasons as to why he is a flop, you are just further backing my point. He might come good, and i did say i am going to give him 1 more season, let’s see how he does. Last season he was below average for what ARSENAL need, if that continues this season he can have no excuses. i hate inconsistent players

We did in the very first game of the season and it didn't really work but yeah that isn't a very fair to judge if it would or not based on that.

though nothing can be worse than how our situation is right now imo. Putting anyone there right now would be better.

why.. we can put even Vermelen there as he is almost always there.. shoots, has pace, good aerially, and has that nack of goals..
Wenger doesnt experiment much.. Walcott deserves some chances atleast in cup games.. why are we so hesistant to make some changes after seeing the last 3 matches... Podolski at centre will surely do him more good.. but cant say whether it will be the best option for the team..

Might as well give up on him, He is injured and he will be away to the African cup soon. He will prob come back and play worse than he is playing at the moment.

The topic was made to discuss if Gervinho is a flop or not and that is what people discussing here. It is entirely not his fault that he is palying in a position where he is not so used to play but there are other things about him that annoys people.

Gervinho is not a flop, he is just jaded. Wenger loves him and understand why he is jaded.

I'd happily take a loss in him and sell him in a heart beat. Not Arsenal quality, nor could he fasten Pires, Ljunberg, Hleb, Rosicky or Wiltord's boots. Flog him ASAP !!!
