sportsczy wrote:Coquelin is a natural holding CM. Ramsey and DIaby are not that good defensively.... but if you are looking for attacking skills, Coquelin is 3rd in this group by a lot.
I personally think you start Coquelin and push Arteta forward. You put everyone in their natural positions as opposed to trying things out.
im sure thats what we mean. arteta shouldn't really be playing dm for us. with our roster as constituted coqueilin should be partnered with him to provide that defensive stability in midfield, even though coquelin offers more than that

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
Well when Wilshere is back this will be a no-brainer, but in the meantime I'll say Diaby. When Diaby is at his best, I think he is currently capable of more, and his height, strength, and ability to drive the team forward are qualities that can be very helpful.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
not sure if serious
I meant it. It's time to give him a run in the side unless we sign a big named DM.
He's a lot better than people think.

Ramsey all day ... Pre-injury he was the closest thing we had to Cesc which says alot about his potential.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
Diaby is back. He's 70% there. You can see him starting to dominate at times. Giving another few games and he will get close to 100%.
So graceful and efficient when he's right.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
calm down, we have all seen this from diaby before, the problem is he has always been consistency and i HATE inconsistent players. lets see him perform like this for 4-5 more games.

Wenger's judgement and trust in his players.
Agree with REWB, still, I would like to see Coquelin get a start so we can properly compare them.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
Coquelin can't effect the attack like Diaby can. Doesn't have the vision and passing skill at this point... not close in fact. Cazorla will get more and more space as teams will need to play Diaby closer.
Besides, Coquelin is a holding midfielder really and nobody wants Arteta benched lol.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
I know that, it's just that I see Coquelin as a more rounded player, in the mold of Arteta in the future.
The trio we have now is perfect, but you can always experiment a little, especially when it comes to Diaby's on-off performances.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
Diaby is a beast when going forward, it's like having a Yaya Toure in your team.
Was fantastic today.
It's funny, for one week he's Abou Zidane and the other week he's Abou Denilson hope he finds some consistency this season.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
The funny part is that we had this exact debate 3 years ago, before Ramsey got injure, whats funnier is that my thoughts has completely change. My choice is Diaby simply because of what he brings to the table, i cant think of anyone who plays like him. I think it says something about him that Wenger has not lost hope in him after his injuries. Less we forget, he was part of that midfield that lost 1 game the whole season 3 years back.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
Diaby has been abso-f-in-lutely magnificent with France NT in the first half against Finland. Best player by far. I mean just breathtaking. Scored a goal and controlled the entire game by himself.

MOTM. Imperial presence in the game. Went 90 mins no problem. Looked fresh at the end. He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
There there, lets not jinx it
On topic - I would rotate Diaby with Coquelin and Wilshere to keep him away from the 'red zone'.. Ramsey has potential to play up the field.. Lots of rotation for his with Santi and Rosicky.. Its time for Rambo to learn under stalwarts of that position without getting burdened with first team pressures..

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
its against finland.....i have nothing against diaby. but he still has a lot to prove. first two games of the season he played very poor, now he is hitting good form. but not against top defensive opposition. if he performs like this for the next 3 epl games. then i will totally change my opinion on him.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
You realize that in Euro 2012 qualifying, Finland only lost 2-1 to Netherlands and Sweden at home. They park the bus like crazy and are tough at Helsinki. They are an absolute disaster on the road however.
Never easy to play organized PTB teams at their home. To boot, it looked like it was zero degrees lol.

lol, you have nothing against him? You declared that he 'sucks' and has 'no potential' and that if Coquelin didn't start over him against Liverpool then you'd lose faith in Wenger or something like that. I just don't understand how you could say something about his talent when the fact of the matter is he's just been injured. It has nothing to do with his potential, he played just fine the first two games and has been exquisite ever since. This is the fit Diaby. There was never a fit Diaby who was underwhelming per your criticism.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
When you ask this question Ramsey or Diaby...
Is it with a DM right??
They both can play in same lineup.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
Nobody's replacing Arteta or Cazorla in the midfield unless one of those two gets injured (PLEAAAAAASE NO!!!!). And I see both of those players pretty much playing 90 minutes all season. So I don't see Ramsey and Diaby playing at the same time. But it's great to start Diaby and sub him off if he's getting tired with Ramsey.
