Surag wrote:Arquitecto wrote:You are right actually Surag. Dzeko's interest goes beyond Milan as its on Serie A as a whole. I just hope Juve fans don't judge Dzeko by what they have seen in City as he simply has been out of form and without confidence. His single handed pull to win Wolfsburg said it all. He destroyed everyone in the BL. Juve really need to push for him. City though won't let him go cheap.
Well if reports are to be true,Viola rejected a €30m offer from Juve which means that we do have money to make a quality acquisition.I think the board have varied valuations for each player. They dint think paying something close to €25m is worth it for Llorente..Something similar could happen in Dzeko's case as well for instance if City is asking for 30 i reckon the board would think paying that much for him isnt worth it.However if City sign another forward,a move could be easily pushed through and City would lower their demands but get the feeling it wont happen and City wont let go of Dzeko in the end.The problem is we want to do transfers on our own terms, which is why we are simply unable to close the deal when it comes to the top striker signing.
Some good points here. City as a whole along with Mancini (who has taken control of the club) have as a whole grown wary with the mass amounts of bids coming there way. I haven't seen them this strict as they were towards other clubs in letting their players go. I'm sure 25 with a strong bout of negotiation should do but Mancini has never had any intention of letting him go.
Juve has always had the money yet have been stingy with their cash when it comes to strikers strangely enough. I personally don't feel the arrival of Walcott would make a difference. Juve will have to push hard.

We have only spent 1.8m net this summer, so much for backing Pardew and wanting to push on and get CL football

I'll wait for three more days before passing any more judgements.I wont talk until then.Hopefully Marotta can surprise me.And i'm still hopeful of getting one of Llorente or Dzeko or maybe even Jovetic(lol) even though its a dream sadly.
Marotta was way too late with that €30m offer if true.

They have no prestige. Has nothing to do with Ashley it's the players that don't want to go there.

Thank God someone in Madrid has an ounce of sense ffs.
They gave away our attacking right back and bought no one, if we don't buy a right back, especially when a top 5 one in the world is going for 8 million, it's a disgrace really.

Juve have a record of being shrewd and pulling off smart transfers by the end of the season. Marotta has grown more confident and skilled in his position as I wouldn't be surprised.
Jovetic would be impossible as Fiorentina with Montella on board have the intention of building their project as Della Valle has promised Montella on not selling Jovetic or his main stars.
I still think Llorente is possible if Juve push hard enough yet Dzeko looks out of the picture in my opinion

No idea it seems we don't have a strict budget and we only spend on what we consider good value....
For example we spent 6.5m on Anita and offered 12m for De Jong but refuse to spend that on Debuchy because of his age.
As Ashley is all about resale value, it's f*cking crazy tbh.
De Jong and Debuchy would have been perfect
It's crazy tbh.
Also Gil it has f*ck all to do with prestige as Debuchy agreed to join a week after the Euros

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 8
Giovani dos Santos' agent Vicente Montes has claimed the Mexico international is being 'held hostage' by Tottenham.
The 23-year-old forward has never been able to make an impact at White Hart Lane following his £4.7million arrival from Barcelona in 2008.
Dos Santos has spent spells out on loan with Ipswich, Galatasaray and Racing Santander and is keen to leave the North London club on a permanent deal.
Montes claims his client is wanted by a number of clubs in Spain and Italy, but feels the tough negotiating stance taken by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is putting off potential suitors.
"As yet, no concrete offer has arrived. Giovani still has one year left on his contract with Tottenham and the market is currently in a very difficult time," he told calciomercato.it.
Opportunity
"The Spurs chairman is a tough obstacle to overcome, as confirmed by the (Luka) Modric deal.
"Dos Santos is held hostage by Tottenham, but at the end of his contract he'll have the opportunity to agree a deal with another club."
Montes believes that Dos Santos would be happy to move to either Serie A or La Liga, and suggested that a host of clubs were keen to secure his services.
He added: "Several teams have shown an interest in the past, such as AC and Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Genoa and AS Roma.
"Atletico Madrid? Yes, but there are also other interested clubs in Spain, including Sevilla, Espanyol, Granada and Malaga, who asked for information on the player.
"Serie A and La Liga are of great interest to Dos Santos."

Martinez to Bayern is finally through :DDD
http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/javier-martinez/kommt-zum-fc-bayern-muenchen-25916302.bild.html
Martinez is going to the Spanish league board and will cancel his contract. At the same time Bayern is paying the money to the league board. No tax-problem.
