Barca try to 'steal' 11 yo kid, Break relations with Malaga.
Could you Pay 150000 euros to sign sign a 11 yo? Is it ok to 'steal' players while they are kids? Ethics say no in both case, but the reality is that it does happen very often, and more than we would want to. At that age there are no professional contracts, until 16 yo there is no official link that FIFA sanction , so a simple signature on the file for each season serves a link between the player and the club that trained him or the team he is playing for. And it's that way season after season.
The problem appears when a team takes interest into a young player and puts an offer in cash on the table, to take the say wonderkid. Which is what happened between Malaga and Barcelona. That is, between Sheikh Al Thani and the 'president' Rosell. Last March, a young 11 yo boy captured the attention of barcelona as his talent was standing out far above the rest. His name is Brahim, and he was being compared to non other than Messi at the same age. The Sheikh turned down the blaugrana, but they reacted, and came back with a 150,000 offer to break the link his father signed with Malaga, so to guarantee that the young kid continue playing on la Costa del Sol.
What does the club that formed that kid and many others who decided to leave their team of heart for the attraction of the bigger and more powerful, receive in return? Nothing, because with a simple change of residence of the parents, everything would be solved . In the case of Brahim Diaz, his father already knows what it is like to live in Barcelona because for a few months, he was a Barcelona employee. Al Thani and his aides managed to convince the player's father, but it cost them 40,000 euros, housing and payment of the child's education. In total, between 150,000 and 200,000. And let's not forget we are talking about an 11 yo player.
Malaga and Barcelona have broken their relations
The breakdown in relations between both clubs is complete. Since then, Barcelona and Malaga have met on different occasions. Rosell and Al Thani crossed path on the transfers of Jose Angel and kiko Femenia, and including when the medias spoke of the interest of Barcelona for Pastore, Sheik Al Thani put in motion a plan to rob Pastore in the face of Guardiola. The funny thing is, Barcelona is sponsored by the Qatar Foundation, owned by the family of Al Thani.
From ElConfidential
Brahim Diaz is considered in spain as the most talented player coming out of the 'smaller' academies in his age group. He had a chance to train in La Masia, and took part to some tournament last weekend during which he had the same effect on every club president and specialists that watched him play...
If it wasnt for the millions of Sheik Al Thani, Barcelona would have gotten away with it, as it's a real problem with smaller academies in Spain losing players to bigger club. Things just took an unprecedented turn here.

it's the biggest irony no?
their fans treat wenger worse than a child molester for signing away some of their masia talent, yet their club is doing worse stealing away kids from their academies.

Don't drag Wenger into this.
This is hardly surprising, as it's something that happens with many clubs around the world. The best clubs want the best talent possible to ensure the best possible future.
For this reason, it wouldn't be right to criticise Barcelona.

^^ it's true to an extent, but things went a bit dramatic here as they severed the tie they had with Malaga.

Meanwhile when Rayo Vallecano closed their academies due to financial restrictions Real Madrid paid a fair amount of money for nine of their best youngsters when they didn't have to pay anything at all. This was all less than a month ago too.
Interesting no?

This has nothing to do with Fab, but ok. And I said it was different, not that it wasn't different, because the kid hasn't (A. come to barca for cheap, (B. become a star and best player of the team, (C. Malaga hasn't become the world's best side, with his teammates from youth still there, and (D. and now the kid wants to return/club wants to buy him back and we have a crazy saga.bloodless wrote:barca 2011 wrote:The Fabregas situation is different.St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:Crimson wrote:So Barcelona failed then?

LOL At Barcelona, great job Malaga.
The thing is every team does this but when Arsenal does it its a big deal, and Barcelona wants their DNA back.

Wenger is a great manager and a lot of these young kids come to Arsenal look up to him as a dad, cus gives them chance of life time. In other teams dog eat dog world, some of these youngster at Arsenal would not have been who they are at other clubs.
I think they should change the rule in Spain so teams can sign young players to a contract like in EPL.
