LED
Plasma is good for big tv but is expensive, you should get Plasma if you have the money and want a big screen tv (40+_
otherwise LED is best for 40 down and in my mind the most efficient power wise

Re: LCD vs LED vs Plasma
LED is the superior of the three, but is roughly double the price of an LCD for the same size but the picture quality is vastly superior. However, forking out for repairs will kill your budget
LCD is the standard in most TV's. It's cheap and easy to maintain and is half the price of an LED TV of the same size. Because it's basically liquid pressed between glass, they can be made to be extremely thin
Plasma is usually used in TVs over 42" big. It's good for fast moving pictures and colour quality, BUT are more susceptible to burn-in and are less reliable than either LCD and LED, while using more power
So, in conclusion
buy LED if: You can afford a high end model and want the best visual quality possible
buy LCD if: You want something cheap and cheerful and want it to last
buy a plasma if: You want a giant TV that is great for watching sports and playing games on

Re: LCD vs LED vs Plasma
It all depends on the lighting.
It's really hard to say which one is better than the other unless you know exactly where the TV is going to be .
Wall Mounted, On the stand, etc
Plasma is very great and if you live in the states you can find some really great open box Plasma tv's at best buy ( I worked there)
Like on average a 46 in plasma is about 425* depending on the store.
I have all LED tvs in my house and they are great.
Just look for something with a refresh rate of 120 hz and 1080p and multiple HDMI. ( in LED) 600hz in Plasma.
Essentialy you get a more vivid/realistic image in a plasma tv.

Re: LCD vs LED vs Plasma
I had this choice a few months ago. Plasmas are the best picture-wise. However they use the most power of the 3, and for the most part are thicker than LED/LCDs.
I went with a backlit Samsung LED. For LED, there's edge-lit and back-lit. Back-lit is better, but more expensive. The colors are more vivid and the blacks levels are darker.

Re: LCD vs LED vs Plasma
Burn in's depends on you use the TV.
Picture quality is more realistic on a plasma (color, black levels, etc)
Brighter image on LED's

Re: LCD vs LED vs Plasma
The best choice is LED, (Light-Emitting Diode) is doesnt consume itself, but it is the most expensive. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) consumes itself for about 10 years. And Plasma consumes for about 4-5 years. But it is cheaper. I would go with plasma because I wouldnt keep a tv for more than 4-5 years
