LICHTSTEINER AND VIDAL — Tomorrow should see the closing of the deal for Lichtsteiner: 9.5 million euro from Lazio. The Vidal affair: Juve are ready to offer Bayer Leverkusen 10 million euro for the 24-year old Chilean international, whose contract runs out in 2012. The Germans are taking their time to decide, possibly because they think they can make more out of the midfielder from Santiago, following the Copa America. But for the moment Juve are in pole position.

Bayern has already a 10mil bid rejected outright and Neverkusen want 15 mil acc. to Bild.
10m is kinda low. i don't think that's true...or it's incomplete. maybe we offered them a player that they need, or like. or maybe they are trying to extort money from their rivals, seen as they are forced to let him go.
no matter how it is...there's no way we will do it with just 10m.

Bayern is direct rival maybe they will sell him cheaper to us if not than we will big higher simple ...plus melo is going away so selling him for 20 mil and getting vidal for 13-15 is not bad

When is the last time a club sold a player at a lower value just to avoid that he goes to the rival?
at the end of the day, you look for the maximum value, and you let the fans handle the hating

Re: Juventus agree terms with Vidal !
10mill isn't too much for a player that won't extend his contract that runs out next season.
Re: Juventus agree terms with Vidal !
It is true, Rudi Voller confirmed it.
With about 15m should do the trick. He's on his last year of contract.

Actually what he say's make sense for example you bet your bottom dollar that Barca would sell a player for less money to a random club then they would to Madrid if it meant Madrid not getting that player.

when the club is wealthy it's not a problem. Is Leverkusen doing that good financially?

Re: Juventus agree terms with Vidal !
That's only in the case of Barca and Madrid, who have cash our of the ass. The rest of the mortal clubs with limited funds would not bat an eye to sell them to the highest bidder. Also we have some exceptions such as Figo.Immaculate_Mole wrote:St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:When is the last time a club sold a player at a lower value just to avoid that he goes to the rival?

Barca are in a better position they are actually rivals to us, Atletico won't gain anything by not letting him come to us they will only be losing out. Atletico can't compete with Villarreal and Valencia let alone Real Madrid.

Re: Juventus agree terms with Vidal !
It's a German club without "Bayern" in their name. Minimum debt and in a good place, but are not really rich by today's standards.St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:Immaculate_Mole wrote:St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:When is the last time a club sold a player at a lower value just to avoid that he goes to the rival?

I meant as in rival's club would rather not do business with each other and if the situation called for it they would sell to another club for less money.
Correct me if iam wrong did'nt Valencia turn down astronomical bids from Madrid for Silva and Villa just because they did'nt want to sell to them and sold them for less to Barca and City.

I don think Madrid bid for Silva considering they just signed Ozil who is a similar player.
They rejected Madrid bid for Villa and 2009 and then Madrid signed Benzema. When Barca signed him last year there was no bid from Madrid.

In essence you're right, but with today's economical situation it's a tough thing to follow.Immaculate_Mole wrote:Sushi Master wrote:That's only in the case of Barca and Madrid, who have cash our of the ass. And well... further strengthening Barcelona does not help title ambitions 40m isn't a bad deal at all, and I think Villa wanted Barca and not Madrid. Silva did not even want to leave Valencia, but due to their debts he didn't have a choice. 30m is nice money.

we did, we probably would have succeeded if it wasnt for Mourinho who wanted Di Maria more. We signed Ozil much later in the summer.
Also, they were asking too much money for Villa.

Di maria was Mou's choice over Silva and Valencia backed out at the last minute and asked for more money because they were being greedy.
