Not sure but from what I remember of the past, it should happen some time during the afternoon of the day after the final. Both the all star team and the player of the tournament should be announced.

Andres Iniesta has won man of the match in a World Cup final and in a Euro final.

Anyone knows other players in history who have done that? I would guess Zinedine Zidane in 1998 and 2000. Maybe Gerd Muller but I doubt he won in both 1972 and 1974.

euro player of the tournament is definitely pirlo.

but when it comes to ballon d or iniesta will probably win it, and it will be well deserved for him .

pirlo had magnificent campaign undefeated juve campaign and magnificent euro campaign and he should definitely be amongst top 4 candidates of ballon d or.

Nice comments guys. In world cups the best player of the tournament often does not come from the winning team. That is largely because the voting starts before the final and most of the journalists vote before the final starts.

In Euro on the other hand if I remember correctly it's a panel that decides this after the final is done and dusted. This is how I think it should be done ideally even at world cups.

I just did some research and found that the Euro player of the tournament has always gone to the winning team. However there is no information about the award for the tournaments before 1996.

Considering all this, all I can do is keep my fingers crossed for Iniesta.

Should be between Iniesta and Pirlo. Or who knows, maybe Ramos? Spain conceded only one goal in this tournament and Ramos was their best defender.

Casillas the underrated hero deserves it. but they will give it to Iniesta.

Iniesta was good but imo he wasn't an stand out player. Pirlo deserves it more than him imo.

and in Final Alba and Xavi were better than him. motm in final was Xavi not Iniesta.

Agree though I feel Xabi was in the way of Xavi and he gave away the ball a bit too much through his long balls to no-one. Though saying that, his ball pressure, defensive aspect and his positioning at 'attacking times' was great. Alba was great attacking wise, Ramos was solid in defense, only one mistake I recall and well Iker had little to do though what he had to face, he did very well!
