Call me crazy if you want, but I think Modric coming means Özil won't play AM in big games, or big games at all. He is too defensively weak and Bayern games are a example of how he can be a liability becouse he doesn't defend. I can see us lining up something like this with Modric:

He played as a AM vs. Spain and was brilliant there. I think he is perfect as an AM for us, I really don't see why he would fail there.

Its not just him btw,i have seen many saying Modric isnt a good AM and it is right to an extend. He works better in a 3 man mid but not as a AM imo.

Because everytime he plays there for Spurs he is'nt even close to being half the player.

Play him deep or dont bother at all, it's easy to lock him down as AM, would rather play Di Maria there than Modric tbh.

if modric is brought in to play AM, i just really will not understand that move its not like kaka is going anywhere. and people are saying modric will cost 40m- i mean come on.

if he is brought in to play CM i think that is a pretty big slap in the face to granero because they are similar type players and its not like modric will start over khedira so what is the purpose of this signing?

Yeah.... he does against the small teams.... not against the big teams.

In anycase that's all irrelevant because your talking about Modric for AM where dictacting tempo and linking play quite frankly means very little.

He's great in a deep role, usually lets the big games pass him by does'nt really assert himself the way he should but great none the less.

But as an AM he lacks ideas, often makes the wrong decision and all in all just looks lost in that position.

Play him in a deep role and i'm sure he will do great, not worth 30m if its rotation but great none the less but as AM would be pretty stupid.

Ffs if we're getting rid of Modric it better not be for 30m. He's vital to our team and we got him on a contract until 2016, let us be Porto and squeeze every last cent out of the guys that want him. Especially if it's to be a rotational squad member.

Hate to say it but Mole is spot on with Modric as an AM. He doesn't look too great there anymore.
