Re: Johan Cruyff: The Creator
Well, I would want Cruyff to first of all elaborate on what he said and educate us more with his opinion. Also, I would like it more if he watched Barcelona (which he admits to not doing) and then said whatever he likes.
I already talked about my issues with Suarez, but I dont know if his style of play or attitude is all that different from that of Hristo Stoichkov...one of Cruyff's marquee players in his time as coach.

Re: Johan Cruyff: The Creator
Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff says club manager Luis Enrique will only be judged as a success if he can maintain the club's current form and win trophies.
Football Espana report that while Cruyff is impressed with Enrique's start to life as the coach of the Catalan club, he will need to prove himself over a longer period of time to truly establish himself. Enrique has guided Barcelona to the top of the La Liga table after seven games, with the club winning six and drawing one.
Barcelona have also scored 19 goals and impressively not conceded once in the league yet this term. But Cruyff wants to see more from Enrique and his side over the course of the season.
In an interview with BeIN Sports, he said: “Only in the future will we be able to tell if Luis is a success or not. At this point things are going well and the team has good players, but there are always injuries and things like that.
“That’s why you need to have a little bit of luck, but for the moment he has everything in his favour. Perhaps the presence of Suarez will improve the Messi-Neymar connection. Last year it failed because they did not perform together.
“The season has only just started and there is already praise for the team. However, the awards are given out in May so we must leave people alone to do their work.
“Barca, despite so many changes, are winning and that’s an important step."
Cruyff went on to compliment Lionel Messi's performances and believes Messi's new withdrawn role is allowing him to contribute in all aspects of the attack.
He continued: “Sometimes when you can’t score yourself you have to make a pass. This comes with years of experience, something Messi is now developing, but that’s normal with the quality he possesses.”

Best luck to Johan Cruyff. Lung cancer is one of the worst... even stage I cancer only has a 35% 5 year survival rate. At his age and gender, only 10% 5 year survival rate.
Hope he can recover and die of old age.

Smoking is awful. Don't know how can you even start off, let alone keep doing it every day.
Anims Johan.

Surprising. I thought he stopped smoking more than 20 years ago. Lung cancer is almost exclusively caused by smoking (90 % of lung cancer patients are smokers) or if you inhale stuff like mercury steam in industrial work.

Cruyff wrote:After several medical treatments I can say that the results have been very positive, thanks to the excellent work of the doctors, the affection of the people and my positive mentality. Right now, I have the feeling that I am 2-0 up in the first half of a match that has not finished yet. But I am sure that I will end up winning.

Re: Johan Cruyff: The Creator
Arguably the greatest ever football personality, considering achievements in terms of playing, coaching and above all what he has given to the game.
For us he means even more since he built modern Barcelona. We can never thank him enough for all that he has done for us and we will never forget him.
Reflecting over it further today I may as well say he is God for us.

Thoughts go out to his family too.

Re: Johan Cruyff: The Creator
Don't know exactly what Barcelona can ever do to repay Cruyff for all that he's given us. Will go down for me as the most influential footballer/manager of all time as I said in the general section.
Absolute legend in every sense of the word and as long as Barca lives on, so does Cruyff.
