Is Belgium gonna be a next heavy-weight in European/International Football?
I Been thinking about some of the players who represent Belgium & I must say...they have some pretty great talent, most of whom are young...players like:
Hazard
Felliani
Lukaku
Nainggolan
Vermaelen
Kompany
Vertonghen
Courtois (GK)
Witsel
Defour
Mertens
Dembélé
Alderweireld
among other...
If they can form a good team, get a good coach & some of these players go to some big clubs...
Do you think in the future they can be World Cup/Euro contenders or ranked in the top 10?

they have two weaknesses, they dont have fullbacks, and more importantly, no quality striker.

All the ingredients are there. They just need someone to make it happen.
If Lukaku lives up to his hype they can be seriously good.
Alderweid at RB and Vermaelan at LB is not too bad.

I think that formation would do good with Naingollan...
A good all round midfielder...
Tackling,shooting & passing...
he is just under-rated right now!

Let's face the inevitable truth; they're going to lose to one of Germany/Italy/Brazil/traditional power in the end. It's just how the world goes 'round.

They will be good. But heavyweights? I don't think so, not until they can consistently produce good squads and get good results.

They need a good coach and a style though , England was never a heavyweight and they had more talent than most at one point.

you just can't turn in to a powerhouse with just a couple of good players, and most of those players are still young, and you don't even know if they will ever play at their full potential

it should be said that this national side is full of promising youngsters. if they continue to improve they will have a squad to be reckoned with in the future

Re: Is Belgium gonna be a next heavy-weight in European/International Football?
Every good footballing European nation has a good generation.
It's always happened. Why should it be a surprise that Belgium is emerging again?
The best of the current Belgian squad (Kompany, Hazard, etc, etc) will be near peaking in 4 years time.
That's enough time for Belgium to produce new players for the positions that they are weakest in ... like striker. And it will then be a good mix of experienced vets and young players ... a necessary balance.
Personally, I think they'll be a force in the next world cup.

No fullbacks. Striker is still raw, coach is trash. etc etc
Hazard, Fellaini, De Bruyne, could be a special Big 3 though.

No.
Why? Cuz it's Belgium. They'll be watching all major competitions from their couch again.. except for 1 Euros.. but even then, they'll just scrape by.

I just don't see Belgium becoming an heaviweight. They could put up a good team but not a great one in my opinion.

My favourites for the next World Cup. Yes Kneejerk
Still not sold on their fullbacks (although Vertonghen is solid at LB) and Lukaku is still extremely raw but they still have 2 years to get it right.
