Oh well. Enrique just wasn't cut out for it.
It's one thing to manage a Barca 2008 and it's another thing to manage Roma.

Re: So Luis Enrique quit.
All the ideas and intentions were right.
Most of the players needed to execute the plan were there.
The money was there.
Imo, what killed Luis was...
1) He didn't make enough of an attempt to fit in with the culture of the club and entrench himself in their vision for the future.
2) Inconsistency of youth and inconsistency of veterans.
3) Awful defenders.

Re: So Luis Enrique quit.
Roma's season was not really a failure. Enrique just couldn't take the pressure of the fans. He should have had a lot more mental strength.
And of course, he did not really have great players. He should have stayed on and recruited some quality players. I am sure he would have done better in the second season.

i think enrique should have stayed one more year. his imminent replacement Montella is a defensive minded one dimensional coach who only attacks through wings and then cross after cross ... i hate such style (personal taste) .... please Enrique stay one more year

So Tare wasn't wrong after all
Tare also launched an attack on city rivals AS Roma: “Our cousins have a project that is not proving to be a winning one, but they still get praised in the media. On the other hand, our club is working solidly to reach its objectives and proving its worth with facts, yet you read things in the papers that make us seem like a disaster area.”

Re: So Luis Enrique quit.
He's too overrated to be arrogant aswell. When was the last time Roma lost the two derby's in one season?

Re: So Luis Enrique quit.
Roma set some record under him.
Lost to Novarra twice and made history.
Lost to cagilari twice and made history.
Lecce win against Roma made history.
Lost to Lzio twice ,first time in 14 years.
He is a record breaker

Really, the Argentines at Catania don't think they are defensive minded.

You must be mistaking us with Inter they lost twice to Novara,we actually beat them 2-0 away and 5-2 at home. :vagi:

When was he arrogant? He answered journalists who asked stupid questions the way they should be answered. I actually feel bad for him for all he had to put up with, the media in Rome is beyond ridiculous.
