A Netherlands win would make this group very very interesting, despite giving me a tinge of sadness at a german loss.
Kudos to the greatest striker who ever lived for driving his stocks up in the shop windows. If he manages to take Denmark to the next round, we could get a handsome 15 million euros for him.

Re: Arsenal players at Olympic games 2012
Holland 1-2 Germany
Van Persie played the full 90 minutes for Holland, scoring one great goal. He missed a few other chances (again) but Holland, in truth, were poor, and Germany were much the better side.
Podolski also played the whole game for Germany. He was conservative and more defensive minded. We've yet to see the best of him in this tournament.
Mertesacker was again an unused substitute.
Update:
Arshavin: 2apps, 0 goals, 3 assists
Rosicky: 2 apps, 0 goals, 0 assists
Szczesny: 1 app, 1 conceded, 1 red card
Van Persie: 2 app, 1 goal, 0 assists
Bendtner: 2 app, 2 goals, 0 assists
Podolski: 2 app, 0 goals, 0 assists
Oxlade-Chamberlain: 1 app, 0 goals, 0 assists
Walcott: 1 app, 0 goals, 0 assists
Mertesacker: 0 app
Koscielny: 0 app

No Arsenal players involved in Group C, so update in above post is still valid.
Group D tomorrow (Friday) so Koscielny, Chamberlain & Walcott all potentially in action. And Giroud..

Re: Arsenal players at Olympic games 2012
Wojciech Szczesny faces a battle to reclaim his Poland No 1 spot for Saturday’s clash with the Czech Republic.
The Arsenal keeper is back from a Euro ban for the third Group A game, having been sent off in their opener against Greece.
A win will put the co-hosts into the quarter-finals.
But the heroics of understudy Przemyslaw Tyton in Tuesday’s thrilling 1-1 draw against Russia has put pressure on the youngster.
Szczesny, 22, said: “Tyton did really well and the whole defence did really well.
“But football’s about fighting for your spot and I must show the manager I deserve to be in the team.”

Re: Arsenal players at Olympic games 2012
Nicklas Bendtner has received a warning from the Danish Football Association for his celebrations after scoring in Denmark’s 3-2 loss to Portugal at Euro2012 last night.
After heading home his second goal, to make it 2-2, the Arsenal striker lifted his shirt and lowered his shorts to reveal his underwear plastered with the name of Irish betting company Paddy Power.
It has been revealed that UEFA rules disallow players to wear any sponsorship items with their playing kit whilst DFA spokesman Lars Berendt indicated that Bendtner had breached Demark’s sponsorship rule as they have an agreement with a British betting company.
"We have an exclusive deal and this is, of course, a breach of it," said Lars Berendt.
"And it's also a breach of UEFA's commercial rules, rules against exposing personal messages."

Re: Arsenal players at Olympic games 2012
Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker says Lukas Podolski will turn on the style for the Gunners next season.
Mertesacker expects him to showcase his more familiar attacking spark than seen at the Euros with Germany when he arrives at Emirates Stadium.
“Defensively it was a great game from Lukas,” he told Arsenal.com.
“He had to cover for Philippe Lahm, with Arjen Robben on his flank, and he did it very well. Especially in the first half, he covered him all the time and it was two against one on Robben.
“I think that was more important than his attacking qualities today. But every Arsenal fan will soon see what he can do offensively.”

Theo was abysmal, completely turned the game on. If not for Gerrard Sexlade would score aswell with a Walcott assist.

Re: Arsenal players at Olympic games 2012
I didn't think Walcott had it in him to score a goal from that distance. Isaksson should've done a lot better but great striker nonetheless.
His assist was much more typical Walcott (the good typical); taking on the defender, getting past him and cutting the ball back. Should have had two assists, but Gerrard decided to be greedy and snatch the chance off Chamberlain's foot.
Excellent cameo performance. Given Milner's form, I see no reason why Walcott should not start against Ukraine on Tuesday.
