Portugal -> wingers. CR, Nani, Figo, Quaresma, Simao Sabrosa (just mentioning recent players).

In an all-time analysis I would consider Maldini to be a full-back.juventus101 wrote:Im assuming Passarella is from Argentina, but Top 3 is a bit far fetched in my opinion. I think Beckenbauer, Maldini, and Baresi are pretty hard to topple as the Top 3.

He's talking about: Casillas,Reina,Valdes,Guaita,Diego Lopez, Iraoziz,Javi Varas, etc.
Dunno how these matchup to Germany since I don't follow German keepers but it's good depth.

The German ones are pretty impressive, too: Neuer, ter Stegen, Zieler, Weidenfeller, Leno, Ulreich, Wiese, Trapp, Rensing etc., and half of them are <23 still.Le Samourai wrote:He's talking about: Casillas,Reina,Valdes,Guaita,Diego Lopez, Iraoziz,Javi Varas, etc.

Besides Neuer, who do Germany have right now that can match Guaita, Valdes, Reina and De Gea?

ter Stegen, Wiese, Weidenfeller, Adler, Ulreich, Leno, and Zieler are probably superior, though Wiese and Weidenfeller are both over 30 by now, so not sure if they count as "currently produced", but then there's other GKs like Rensing, Sippel, Kraft, who I'd throw in as "can match".
Then again "superior" makes me sound smug and how do we really measure that? Let's just say they all can "match" those four and save ourselves the slugfest, since I wouldn't know how to back up my claims of superiority except by urging people to "have a look".
Edit: Forgot Neuer. But I guess you heard of him.

Tim Wiese, Weidenfeller, Rene Adler.
Those three are easily better than De Gea. Valdes and Reina are in pretty bad form at the moment.

Bernd Leno and terStegen > Weidenfeller,Adler and Wiese
you have to watch those if you don't know them, not far behind Neuer level on their current form
