Still not convinced they're better than the '74 side, but they're certainly the best since then.

Re: This is the best German NT ever
They are easily the strongest side in the world in my opinion, and one of the strongest german, or any countrys teamsever. Look at this quality:
Neuer, Wiese, Leno, Rensing, Ter Stegen for GKs.
Lahm, Hummels, Mertesacker, Howedes, Badstuber, Boateng, Schmelzer for Defenders.
Kroos, Ozil, Gotze, Reus, Marin, Schweinsteiger, Khedira, Holtby, Ballack, Rolfes, Bender bros, Gundogan for midfielders.
Podolski, Schurrle, Muller, Klose, Gomez, Kiessling, Helmes, Cacau for forwards.
No other national team has such class to choose from, not even close really. Plus they know howto play together extraordinarily well. Theyre my pick to win both the Euro and World Cup.

In my honest opinion, theres a big gap. Germany are quite a bit above Spain, both in individual talent and chemistry within the team.

lol really? I think Germany has a great NT Team, but that statement takes it a bit too far.

I don't know. Hummels and Höwedes haven't really shown up for the NT yet, neither has Schmelzer. Kießling, Helmes and Cacau are just "meh", Balack and Rolfes are too old, but point taken - still enough to field two teams of XI who'd go deep in any tournament.
Still... Only one world-class FB, and it remains to be seen how well the back four work.
I do think that our midfield and forwards are more dangerous than Spain's, and we'll be able to match them in terms of keeping possession the next time we meet. If not, we've certainly failed, since we're not young enough anymore to use that excuse :X

Re: This is the best German NT ever
TBH I wasn't convinced by Spain at the WC either. I know it seems idiotic and trollish to hate on the WC winner, but they did so by managing to lose to Switzerland and getting the win handed to them by the ref against both Paraguay and Chile.
I was thoroughly underwhelmed by watching Spain, I also think that Del Bosque Spain is a huge step down from Aragones, and I think they're missing Torres, and will miss Villa, Llorente or no Llorente.
They're obviously the team to beat until Xaviesta retire, so sure, I'd rather not face them before the final, but it's not like they're far ahead. They've won the past two encounters, yes, but Germany has been phenomally shitty in 2008 and stunningly inexperience ind 2010, while Spain pretty much just grew... Well, positively they grew more experienced and calmer, on the other hand you could argue they've lost their hunger.

Re: This is the best German NT ever
Do you want to go through it?
Neuer and Casillas, forarguments sake, are even. Then Ter Stegen has been better than Reina, and then Germany have by far better depth in keepers.
Lahm is better than Ramos, and then all Spain have is Pique, Arbeloa, and Puyol that are even worth mentioning. Germany have Hummels, Mertesacker, Howedes, Boateng, and Badstuber. Germany 2-0 Spain so far.
Midfield is pretty even. Schweini, Ozil, Kroos, Khedira, Ballack/Benders and Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Busquets, Alonso. So lets say 3-1.
Then attackers Spain have Silva, Villa, Mata, Pedro, and Navas. Villa is completely off form remember and has been for a while even before he got injured. I would personally take Gotze, Podolski, Reus, Muller, and Schurrle over them any day. Now 4-1.
Then thr big center forwards. Mario Gomez is the best in the world, and Klose on his national team form is among the best as well, especially as hes been great for Lazio as well this season. Plus Helmes, Kiessling, and Cacau are all consistent strikers. Llorente, Soldado, and Torres (who cant score, and has always been below par for Spain), are great, but they cantcompete with that. Plus Soldado and Llorente are completely unproven for Spain.
So it ends Germany 5-1 Spain in individual quality. And then you have to remember that alot of the Germans havebeen around for a long time already and know how to play together (Podolski, Schweini, Lahm, Mertesacker, Klose, Gomez), and even the "new guys" have mostly been around for about 2 years already. Its only really some of thedepth players like Gundogan and Reus that are really new. But in one game for Germany, Reus performed very well. So Germany also has better chemistry.
And btw, im not a Germany fanboy at all. I like them, but im actually Italian. Italy comes first.

Spain are easily better than Germany no doubt.Talent wise as well.
Germany have the larger pool of upcoming talents but i think quality wise Spain is just better in my opinion.
Two best NT's right now.

Joachim will run out the '10 South Africa crew in Ukraine/Poland (besides a few changes in the defense) again. My guess, at least.
