The white Andy Carroll. As previously mentioned by the GOAT that is EE.
Agreed. Compton born African-English Striker Andy Carroll does share similarities with a Caucasian Giroud.

He started the season so damn well. It's his own fault he's suffered mentally at least.

Re: Olivier Giroud
That gif used to be around when Liverpool fans were slating Carroll.
It is not.
It's Wenger's fault for not bringing in competition/thinking Giroud would last the whole season.
It's also Arsenal fans fault for thinking he should be Thierry Henry, when it's clear he's just a "solid" striker. He'll get you 15+ in the league, if used properly. But he's not been used properly for months now, and HE'S getting all the blame for it. It's ridiculous.

So, if pretty much everyone agrees that Giroud isn't good enough, who should Arsenal try to sign in the summer, who could they realistically get?
So who's scoring a lot in France nowadays?

It is. He was doing just fine until the time of the scandal and especially when it leaked to the press. Perhaps more competition would have elevated his game even further but to looking at the sequence of events it goes like this:
Giroud plays well, Giroud's form drops, press reveals Giroud scandal.
Do the math.

Ha, how would Newcastle hang onto Remy? Wouldn't they have to pay at least £10m and whatever wages QPR are paying (which are high..?)
Can Newcastle afford that?

Newcastle could afford him, but I don't know if they want to pay up, especially the wages. If QPR stay in the Championship they will probably accept a modest fee.
But if Arsenal are interested in Remy, he will prefer joining them, that's Newcastle's problem.

Re: Olivier Giroud
We are paying 100% of his wages during the loan....
Also lol @ couldn't afford it, for starters he would cost us 6.5m due to the agreement we have in place with QPR.
Secondly we haven't bought a player in two seasons and just sold Cabaye for 20m.
When you consider everything involved, be it just general income.... money saved, tv money which we haven't spent a penny of yet, fees got from players sold over the last 3 years we could spend 100m this summer without breaking a sweat.
That's without ignoring the fact the owner has a gross wealth of 10 billion lol.
Problem is we are owned by someone who has no desire to do anything other than make sure we stay in the league.... he has no desire to allow the team to be improved by using the clubs own money and definitely has no desire to spend his own.
I do have to LOL at this notion that we are poor, we could compete on a Spurs and Liverpool level financially if we really wanted to but fact of the matter is the management has no plans to do anything for sporting success.
Anyway as Art said the problem isn't money, the problem is bigger teams will pay QPR and then it comes down to the player.... and i really doubt he's going to want to join a club who consider 17th a successful year....

Offer a F***ton of money to Bayern for Mandzukiç and try and convince him to ask Bayern if he can leave.

I won't blame giroud for being bad.
He did well earlier in the season but any sane person would have known that he wasn't going to last all the season.

Re: Olivier Giroud
Before scandal: 12 goals 7 assists in 28 apps
19 goal contributions divided by 28 apps = .68 per game
After scandal: 6 goals 2 assists in 14 apps
8 goal contributions divided by 14 apps = .57 per game
So what were those dates supposed to show me?

That the difference is marginal (0.11) and he is just not good enough for Arsenal.

Re: Olivier Giroud
His form dipped in November.
The scandal gets released from the press in mid/late February.

His form dipped due to fatigue, not this scandal.

Like I just pointed out, his form dipped by 11% after February 2nd. You asked me to look at the dates, I did. It's right there.
