Giroud would have to score a hat-trick with 3 bicycle kicks to get any credit from Dany

Giroud is just one of those Forwards I prefer. Tall and Technical.
Certainly my favorite player in Arsenal, right now.

This thread gets bumped every time he scores for a reason... he's still not Arsenal quality for me. Definitely an area where Arsene needs to strenthen in the summer.

13 goals and 7 assists in EPL and Champions League together.sportsczy wrote:Giroud. 36 games, 24 starts, 14 goals and 9 assists. He's on pace for 20+ goals and 10+ assists. Of course, he's not RVP or even very good yet. But he is good. I dare people to name how many players are going to have 20/10 this year.

He's improved, I'll give him that. He sort of reminds me of Lewandoski, but obviously not as talented.
Still sitting in the middle with him, though to be honest. He's not as good as Arsenal fans make him out to be, but he's not exactly crap either. He does his role so I guess that's all you can ask of him.

No.
Giroud is basically a glorified, French version of Calol.

Re: Olivier Giroud
no not really, glorified doesn't mean it's better. it just means it's praised more. doesn't need to be worthy of the praise in the first place to be glorified

Re: Olivier Giroud
At least Carroll is more effective in the air and at using his body to dominate. With Giroud, it's like he fancies himself as an ibra type player, constantly trying to bring out the flicks and fancy passes, constantly failing at them. You can see it watching him play, he has the same misplaced sense of arrogance bendtner has.

Re: Olivier Giroud
I hear this a lot about Carroll, yet it's ridiculously false. Jumping for a header and having the subsequent ball go back to the opposition does NOT constitute "dominating in the air"Diego Armando Maradona wrote:At least Carroll is more effective in the air and at using his body to dominate.
This bit baffles me, pls explainDiego Armando Maradona wrote:With Giroud, it's like he fancies himself as an ibra type player, constantly trying to bring out the flicks and fancy passes, constantly failing at them. It's ok, bud, Carroll isn't a Liverpool player anymore, you don't have to defend him

Re: Olivier Giroud
It's self explanatory. An example would be his one touch passes, so often trying to play the ball with his first touch, it's a lottery whether it will actually come off for him, it works occasionally. Most of the time a less extravagant option would have been better.

It's funny how people don't use the 'Pre-season means nothing' argument when it works in their favour.Eman wrote:And yet he is scoring goals for fun in pre-season
I'm not defending him.. I'm just saying Giroud is as sh*t as Carroll is.Lex wrote:.........with better vision, a better touch, better hold-up play, better positioning, better link up play, better at tracking back, better hair.....ExtremistEnigma wrote:No.

Re: Olivier Giroud
They're two different type of players.
Giroud is better out of the two, but there's nothing to suggest that Giroud can take that extra step to the next tier.
