Very unfortunate injury for Montolivo....very sad as well. Wish him a speedy recovery. He's gotta be gutted.

Not sure what happened with the Aquilani injury though.....

I think this bodes well for Florenzi though hmm

Final Score 0-0. Tons of chances for both sides, but eventually ends in a draw. Who do you guys think Prandelli will and will not call up now?

Buffon, Sirigu, Perin

Abate, Maggio, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Paletta, Ranocchia, Pasqual, De Sciglio, Darmian

De Rossi, Candreva, Rômulo, Pirlo, Parolo, Thiago Motta, Verratti, Marchisio, Aquilani/Montolivo
(whoever is not injured from those two)

Balotelli, Immobile, Cerci, Rossi, Cassano, Insigne, ,Destro

These are my thoughts after the game, controversial, yes...

Darmian didn't do anything to help himself, but he didn't do anything to hurt himself.
Verratti HAS TO HAVE MADE THIS TEAM. ABSOLUTEYL has to have made it after that performance.
Thiago Motta doesn't look like he even gives a crap, disgraceful, and I'm a huge Thiago Motta fan... soo sluggish, lazy, poor, so many giveaways. OUT.
Rossi HAS TO HAVE MADE the team
Immobile did not make a good name for himself.
Cassano proved his worth.
Parolo held his own, and did not do poorly in any sense.

Imobbile did himself no favours today... Still might get called up over Destro.

I feel Cassano and Veratti confirmed their spots today.

Montolivo's injury very likely to rule him out. Paletta might have screwed up his chances too.

Rossi was always going to be on the plane based on his quality. The question was over his fitness. I think he proved himself to be fit enough.

Guys you KNOW Motta will not be dropped given Prandelli loves the guy and should not either after being the best midfielder in Ligue 1 this season.

Verratti is obvious.

Rossi 100% deserves it. Even I'm his spectrum of unfitness he ran his ass off and showed wonderful technique. We know how much he wants this after Lippi dropped him in 2010.

Montolivo apparently broke his tibia and he's out of the World Cup, according to an Italy doctor.

but that's like saying you can't drop Immobile because he was the best goal scorer in Serie A

I don't know if he's playing poor because he's just bored and thinks his spot is already occurred, okay, maybe that's it, but his performance was that of a guy that doesn't appreciate what it means to be playing for the azzurri, I mean, look at Rossi, Verratti, the guys out there were battling their hearts out to make it to the final 23, you can just feel it.

Well, Ciro Immobile probably has his head full with a) his recent marriage a few days ago  and b) his upcoming signature for Dortmund, so it is likely only a blip at an unfortunate time.

And pity about Riccardo Montolivo - it is always a shame if a good player misses a tournament like this due to injury Sad

Immobile will make it. Same with Motta. Prandelli loves him for some reason.

Immobile was in the ranks of De Sciglio, Insigne and Abate in his unfitness as they had to use a coolant for an inflamed tendon for Immobile hence his sluggishness. I'm sure Cesare will look beyond that.

OFFICIAL CALL UP NOW

Giuseppe Rossi is OUT.
He won't go in Brasil.
Insigne in place of him-

Destro , Pasqual, Maggio, Romulo and of course Montolivo out  too.

Ranocchia will go as " 24th man ". He will be among 23 called  if there are injuries ( Paletta has some problems ... if the Parma player doesn't got injured he will come back in Italy before of Italy-England)

Rossi should be there ahead of most strikers, ridiculous decision

What the hell has Insigne done?

but infact Rossi out is an unexpected decision .. Prandelli  had waited him until now , he was having progresses but he preferred to call Insigne  at the end.. and tbh Rossi is capable to be a difference maker also playing few minutes, Insigne wasn't so this year even in 90 minutes except few matches as Coppa Italia final

Gazzetta missed all the runs off anyway . As I reported   in previous pages, they wrote " run off Destro-Rossi , Insigne out " Laughing

Play well all season...although that doesn't justify Rossi being left out.

He's the 3rd best winger at his club mate. Rossi was top scorer before his injury.

Ridiculous decision by Prandelli.

26 league apps, 2 goals and a handful of assists

Hardly played 'well' he's not even a first team player now.
