Who are our best penalty takers?
I know RVP takes all our penalties, if he was not taking them who would step up to take them?
My guess is either Arteta or Vermaelen would take them.
Who do you guys think is next in line to take the penalties?

Re: Who are our best penalty takers?
Arteta would be the next best. He always took the penalties at Everton and has a very good record.
Everyone else in the squad are all untested from the penalty spot.

Re: Who are our best penalty takers?
I think it highlights the fact that we don't have many goalscorers that we don't trust too many of our players from the spot. Maybe Song would take one? Arshavin is also pretty good at them (if he's even playing that is).

Re: Who are our best penalty takers?
Penalties are just a different prospect from goalscoring. You would think that most goalscorers would be good from the penalty spot but there are a lot of great goalscorers who didn't take penalties. By the same token, there are a lot of great strikers of the ball who don't take them either.
You go through our squad and there are just not many players who you would feel confident with, either because they aren't great finishers or ball strikers or just lack the composure.
One player I'd like to suggest is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Though I haven't seem him take a penalty, he seems to have the shooting technique and the composure to be able to take one.

Maybe Scz is a good PK taker? Hans Jorg Butt takes them. His wiki says he has scored three PK's against Juventus, with THREE different teams lol

Re: Who are our best penalty takers?
Chambo exudes confidence so I'd imagine he'd have the composure necessary, I also think Walcott could put one away but first and foremost are RVP and Arteta no doubt. What's this about Sagna taking penalties?
But that's an interesting question Raptor, what would your penalty lineup look like?
I'd make it
RVP
Arteta
Chambo (when playing)
Verminator
Walcott
the rest

Re: Who are our best penalty takers?
I'm not quite sure if in a must-score situation Theo would be completely reliable; we've all seen him lose his composure before.
Diaby is another guy I would have confidence in.
