Was pretty decent in the first half, which was all I saw.

Problem is, when he plays, both him and Silva come into the middle and they really lack width. Nobody goes 1 v 1 with a player, ever.

that is why silva was meh tonight. Nasri stole the show in the middle while silva was pushed to the left.

Dani...tell me what you think of this, not neccesarily now but as far as the future goes.

---------Toure--------New DM (Senna type)-----
Silva-----------------------------------------Nasri/Haz
--------------------------Aguero----------------
---------------Balo-----------------------------------

To me it's perfect. It's my favourite formation and they have the playeers to fill it out...inch perfectly.

They should really focus on finding a quality replacement for Barry/De Jong....De Rossi would do nicely.

Still lack a deep lying passer, which plagues them in certain games. Nobody is afraid of Yaya threading a pass through 2 layers of defence so they sit off and let him pass laterally or drive forward with the ball but they clog up as much space as possible in the middle.

Also Nasri and Silva both come center, so they attack very centerally. Same problem as today, it doesnt work aswell as you might think on paper.

Similar case to Silva and Ini tho...but Silva was a Silghtly different player back then so I get that part.

Aguero offers sligtly more width than Villa does, so it's a bit of a compensation, especially since's he's much more capable of providing width on Silva's side.

If Hazzard has any sort of vision I like him for the role on the left.

Perhaps M'Villa as the DM, has good distribution and recycles posession well

Deep lying passer hmm Dunno...Yaya is fine some call him the best passer in the PL.I'm assuming they're right. That's a dent since some say he's their best player and I doubt he's gonna get dropped or sold.I think It can work with him if he drives into the box and spreads the play instead of trying to make Xavi esque passes. Different style , but one perhaps more suited to the PL.

But Xavi was there as a deep lying passer, it forced teams to come out and close him and that created more space for the players further forward.

Wont work.

City forwards went side on occassion today, but it didnt do anything because it was still conjested and everyone knows eventually they want to come inside anyway.

Inverted wingers on both sides is nice in theory, but it doesnt work for possession wides without a deeper lying passer and major play from fullback.

It doesnt matter what people call Yaya, I seem his game as close as anyone and I know what he is capable of. I watch City and there problem is clear. Teams dont close Yaya down, because they arent afraid of him threading the needle.

Driving into crowed up spaces isnt a consistent winning plan against the best defences, if Messi cant do it, Yaya certaintly cant.

Can still be a wild card for the title IMO.

Either that or be can have an Adebayor type of career and end up at a decent mid table team like Stoke, Liverpool or Everton etc.

Liverpool don't him need imo , they got Coutinho but why not Leicester or Everton as you said. He's still a very good player.

Has no end product and no penetration. Should be playing as a CM but he can't defend either

A club like Everton or Leicester could indeed be a good place for him to go next, if he doesn't stay at City.
