Real not playing well!!
Too complacent!
While Kaka has been "ok", I do believe that his being in lineup impairs Ozil, to the detriment of the team, therefore, I'm not in favor of Kaka being out there in crucial games, which pretty much all are, going forward.
I "just knew" that blown opportunities would come back to haunt the team soon and, unfortunately, it was today!
Hopefully "max intensity" will be featured on Wed.

Re: Real not playing well!!
i know this is random but sometimes i play these random 'if games.' i was checking the atletico game and saw they scored one goal. then i saw the results of the valencia game and saw they scored 3. then i randomly said to myself 'if falcao scored for atletico and soldado scored all 3 goals for valencia then we wont beat malaga.' i checked the scorers for those games, and that is exactly how it was played out. thats why i was peeing my pants when cazorla was about to take the free kick... and what do you know? lol.
i warned against complacency. unfortunately mourinho, with all his experience, is inferior to me and could not understand this. he puts on granero before higuain when he is winning 1-0 against a dangerous opponent. shame. maybe our superhuman signings which resulted in unparalleled depth, worldwide, is the only reason for our success this season. otherwise we would be the same crap as last year.

Re: Real not playing well!!
Malaga had 53% possession compared to our 47%. We normally have at least 58%.

pellegrini completely outclassed mourinho. we will be defeated by bayern if they keep up their form.

We had played a game just a few days ago. The players were tired. You can't win every single game.

Re: Real not playing well!!
I get the feeling that Real has been feeling that, even though the opponent controls theball, that they can counter and score "at will", becuase they have had such success, lately. That is very dangerous, as I see it. Reading too many press clippings, as the say!
I must say that the the tendency ( on thsi board ) to blame specific players, incessantly, and use terms such as "Cristiana" really drag down the board's "atmosphere" and maturity level, in my opinion!
Yes, I did notice that Malaga had greater possession, which was...well....stunning!!!
It is true that physical and mental fatigue could be a factor!!

Sahin not needed this season...sure.....Let's watch Alonso rack up 6000 minutes, see what good it does.

If anything, I blame this. Sure, they were complacent and Malaga showed more winning intent from the kick off than Madrid did etc etc, but there's a reason for the players not having the energy and drive that they had in their last encounter against Barca, for instance. Don't underestimate the value of resting.
I'm sure that there are things that could've been done differently, but the whole match would've most likely had a very different outcome, if the teams had met under equal circumstances. Regardless, football isn't about equality or fairness; it's about luck and results. Let's move on, and cry over our measly 8 point lead.

It hasn't prevented them from performing on a high level thus far, but such intense schedules does affect their physical condition, and it doesn't get better over time, without rest. Real Madrid have shown surprisingly good consistensy, so far this season. I think certain key-players should have been rested some time ago, but we have been bulldozing past La Liga teams while in third gear this season, so the players' weakened stamina hasn't been very obvious. That's my opinion, anyway.

Um what formation did they play when the opponents controlled the ball? Was it a 4-2-4?

2 man midfield against 3 man midfield you can not expect to have a higher possession stat. That is direct football not tapping around in a fluid manner

Re: Real not playing well!!
I feel last season we were a lot more creative, we could open any defense with Ozil's vision and skills but this season he isn't doing what's expected of him, i could be wrong though since the amount assists he has provided this season is really good but sometimes stats can be deceiving, he has been effective but technically he has downgraded, his dribbling was much better last season, his decision making and final passes was more in time and precise. overall i think he could play a lot better than this.

Re: Real not playing well!!
I think playing Kaka in the line-up is a problem for Real. He has his moment of individual brilliance, but as Gerry Armstrong put it today, he over-runs with the ball far too much. He loses the ball too much during those runs. I watch Madrid regularly just like you guys, but I clearly think that Callejon would do a better job. First of all, and most importantly, it will make Ozil play in his natural position and he is way better than Kaka at that role. Secondly, Callejon's workrate is similar to Di maria and he can constantly pressurize the opponents. Kaka does work hard nowadays, but I have not been impressed with his decision making. When he decides to pass, he does fine. When he decides to run with the ball, 7 out of 10 times, I feel he loses the ball (obviously this is just based on observation).

Re: Real not playing well!!
None noticed how much better we played as soon as Kaka got off?
It wasn't a coincidence.
Anyways, we played better. Had Benzema finished his chances we could have won. (btw, deception of the week: Benzema being able to finish with his head but not with his feet :vagi: )
We played with absolutely 0 width. Benzema was forced out wide to make up for the width and Özil is forced to do the "Di Maria"-role at RW which his stamina just doesn't allow him to do. Hence why we look so disorganized, and very bad.
I've been saying it for weeks at sportsczys forum and we can't just play with Kaka. He doesn't support us with the appropiate width, and quickly becomes a liability for us.

Actually I thought that was pretty obvious. Kaka is clearly inhibiting Ozil, and consequently the team. As soon as he came off Ozil was pulling the strings and the play immediately became so much more lively.
btw Kaka was getting absolutely schooled in the first half, the last time I saw this much ownage being inflicted on a player was Ozil's raping of Abidal.

Re: Real not playing well!!
I too get annoyed how Kaka push Özil on the wing when he's more creative in the middle/CM
Really hope Di Maria starts ASAP or Callejon in the meantime
Kaka can stay as a sub until the summer

Re: Real not playing well!!
why dont we start callejon, last time he did that was against cska , granted that he didnt have the best of games but who did in that cold and on that plastic pitch?
i think mou is playing kaka because of kaka's price and the pressure to repay that on the pitch

The moment Kaka stays on the bench, the CL is lost and maybe even La Liga. Stop the whining and grow a pair. We drew, big deal, we move on.
